Alma Mader consistently holds or competes for the "best brewery in KC" title. Their expertise across a variety of beer styles is nearly unmatched — they can knock out a killer Hazy IPA, but also make expertly crafted lagers, and even decadent imperial milk stouts on a regular basis. I don't think I've ever had a beer from them that I didn't enjoy or recommend to others. The brewery space is clean, bright and airy. It's not huge but definitely feels open and spacious. When the weather's nice, they recently added an outdoor seating area where you can soak up some sun while sipping on beers, and they'll often raise a large garage door in the side room to make things feel even more open. There are a handful of N/A beverage options and a few snacks on the menu as well. Honestly, you won't find anything crazy or excessive in the Alma Mader taproom, but they don't need it. They make some of the absolute best beers in the city, if not the region, and provide a comfortable and welcoming space to enjoy them with friends and family. A must-stop if you consider yourself a beer person!
I have come here a few times now and it is a great place to chill out and have a few beers. I have yet to have a beer that I dislike. They always have a few pilsners/lighter beers on tap along with a great selection of IPAs. So if you like craft beers, they will have something you like. I stop by every time I am in KC
Excellent. Great quality, good selection of low and mid level ABV, no pastry stouts thankfully. A few guest taps and snacks available. A song in honor of the bartender tonight. That stache is magnificent. She'll only come out for beer, The hoppy and thirsty type, Nothing is new, we've seen her here before, Sipping and savoring, She's drinking with you but her mind's on the brews, So many have paid to taste, what'd you think, you'd get it in haste, The woman loves ale, her senses awakened by the aroma of a craft brew, Money's the matter, if you're in it for free drinks, you ain't gonna get through, Oh, here she comes, Watch out, friend, she'll drink you up, Oh, here she comes, She's a beer lover.
This is the best brewery in Kansas City. Exceptional lagers, excellent hoppy beers, and some of the nicest people you can find owning and working there.
I've been going to Alma Mader since late 2019 and they have remained my favorite KC brewery ever since. Their beers are so clean, flavorful, and well constructed. Their hoppy beers are ridiculously good, but I think their lineup of pilsners and other lagers really show how talented they are. 5-star brewery!
This is not just an excellent KC brewery, Alma Mader should be consider one of the best small businesses in the US. A family-size operation making beer at this technical level is hard to come by. This is the sort of quality and expertise you would expect in an old world setting, with production lessons passed down thru the generations. Bravo.
Dog friendly inside and outside leashed and well behaved pups only of course. Really solid beers with a lot of variety. Casual spot for a couple draughts. Great Mexican food on Saturday’s from Valentina’s.
Bold move setting up shop next to Boulevard. Located in an inconspicuous converted warehouse, this brewery is well worth visiting. The beers were well crafted and one of the owner/bartenders was very friendly. Very clean brewing setup with a satisfying minimalist tasting room interior design. Brew house reminded me of the sanitation standards of the late Heisenberg. Keep up the good work.
One of the best breweries in the city. The pilsner and lagers are super refreshing. The staff is incredibly friendly. The IPA's, whether New England hazies or traditional west coast, are all exploding with flavor and absolutely delicious. The outdoor area is awesome, assuming the weather is nice. No matter what, this is a must visit brewery anytime you're in KC.
The best selection of IPAs of any microbrewery in Kansas City! The staff, the atmosphere, and the beer are all top notch.
