Decided to spend my birthday taking a tour of Boulevard and it was an amazing experience! The guides were very fun, friendly, and knowledgeable on the topics and questions asked. They went out of their way to help make our experience as great as possible. If you have difficulty walking or getting around, no worries there as there are elevators and ramps that are there to help. Getting to try the experimental beers was amazing and I can’t wait to go back again!
Boulevard Brewing Tours & Rec Center is a great place to visit, whether you're a local resident or a visitor to KC. My brother-in-law was in town from Dubai, and where did he want to go? Boulevard! The rec center is great! It's a spacious, friendly area. It's all designed to be an open feeling, while still having sections that inform guests of the history of the brewery and the science of beer. If you're lucky enough, you'll meet Julia at the front desk. She was extremely friendly and explained to my brother-in-law all about the features of the building. Want a beer? The bar upstairs is great! Want a great bartender? See John! John was great. He helped out with tasting samples of the beers on draft and even offered to get a us a new beer if we got one that we didn't like. THAT is quality service! Want a picture strip with your friends to save your moment? Hope in the Airstream looking trailer and take a strip of four shots! Want to play board games with friends, they have those! Want a party room? Yep! Want some sweet merchandise? Their retail area is excellent and features a lot of locally made products. This is an easy 5-star review. Oh, and, bosses at Boulevard, you should be very proud of how Julia and John treat everyone with respect, kindness, integrity, and knowledge.
Boulevard is amazing. I love all the room in here and options to go outside. SO many beers available - my favorites are the experimental beers you can try. They also have seltzers and canned cocktails for the non-beer drinker. We also got artichoke dip, and it was incredible. The host at the front door was delightful. I also loved their big Pride flag outside!
Great experience. Really nice venue, lots of already established boulevard drinks to sip on plus more than a few new ones. Should definitely do the tour and hang around for a bit after. Had a great time!
I don't really want to give a Belgian macro-owned brewery 5 stars, but it's an epic, industrial space with a view and lots of exposed concrete; has many palatable beer options; big, cool gift shop; and inexpensive to-go options $20/6-pack of barrel-aged stouts. Still uniquely KC.
Phenomenal tour - major promos to our guides, Mitch and Isabel! We journeyed here as fans of Boulevard and are wrapping the tour enlightened and even more fond of the craft brewery. The tour is entertaining, informative, and engaging with drinks along the adventure. If you’re a KC local or visiting the city, we highly recommend you add this to your itinerary!
Our 9 person group had a great time on the public tour on a Saturday afternoon. Our guides made it entertaining and not too dry at all. Some of my group would have liked to see more of the production side, but you need to be there Mon - Thurs to see it going on ie watching the bottles and cans getting filled. We def. got our money's worth too with all the samples you get. Highly recommend!
The obvious leader of the pack in the KC brewery game. They have a large variety of high quality beers at the beerhall which is spacious and clean with indoor and outdoor seating. They also have boardgames and a unique photo booth. My only criticism of the beer hall is that most of the beers are widely distributed now, so I would love to see more small batch or taproom exclusives. They also offer tours of the brewery which includes samples, and they have a very cool event space with great event staff!
This was an awesome, very worthwhile tour, very informative and the tour guides have a great sense of humor. Most importantly the beers were very good. After the tour you can go upstairs to the big bar and try a huge selection of different beers. There's also a little bar where you can try beers that are still in the test phase, it was all pretty cool.
Our tour guide, Danielle, was funny af and super chill. Every time I come for a tour, the guides provide new interesting facts about beer brewing or other topics which I really enjoy even as a local. But this is definitely a must visit when family members or friends visit Kansas City, even if they don’t like beer. I’m almost sure that everyone will try a beer they will enjoy Only flag: make sure to show up on time for your tour.
