Altamaha conducts guided kayak tours, rents kayaks, canoes and bicycles, and provides shuttle services in the Darien area. My 84 year old mother and I took the 3 hour guided kayak trip on Cathead Creek. Chris, guide and owner, was fantastic! Neither of us had kayaked before(we did have some canoeing experience), and Chris assured me he could take us.  He took excellent care of us, with special attention to make sure my mom was safe. He is knowledgeable of the area and gave us plenty of information about the water, wildlife and plants along the way. The Cathead Creek trip was beautiful! I highly recommend it or another of their trips if you're in the area.

BEST kayaking tour on the east coast!  I love that this tour makes you feel like you are paddling through a Windows screensaver...it is so BEAUTIFUL!
