Sapelo Island Tours with Sapelo Sights

JR was a nice guild local person. I did not feel it was worth the price. Charged $25.... seems his prices were different than he quoted. Plus paid $5 for round trip ferry ride to DNR when we got on the boa so total was $30. Speaker system on bus did not work very good hard to hear at times. He is knowledgeable about island and can answer any question.

JR was so knowledgeable and personable. His experience as a Sapelo Island native gave a depth to the tour that you won't find elsewhere.

JR provides excellent, personalized tours throughout Sapelo Island. We called JR the night before and the next morning took the ferry to the island where JR was waiting with a white minibus with AC. JR is a local resident and therefore can give visitors a close up look at the culture and current situation of the island. JR was very knowledgeable and good humored. We visited a number of fascinating sights. Our favorite was the Chocolate Plantation and the Native American shell ring earthworks (4000 years old). The tour ended with a visit to the beautiful beach. Highly recommended. I cant speak for the "official" Georgia state tour, but based on what the itineary we saw, Im pretty sure you will see and learn more by taking JR's private tour! Support the Geechees.
