You will not be disappointed! Captain Red spent all of Sunday morning taking us around the Altamaha river, and we were able to explore several different types of habitats, as we were touring with a couple of great birders who wanted to see a variety of birds. I highly recommend this experience, Captain red is full of great information on the history, landscape, where some of the more rare birds can be found, and a master of the sea. As well, he comes well-equipped with boiled peanuts, lots of water bottles, and a first aid kit. Don’t miss out on this are awesome opportunity!

Although being an avid fisherman and hunter, this had to be the best charter trip I have been on in many years. I spent 3 days with customers and friends of mine with Capt Red last weekend. Not only did we catch over 50 keeper Reds, Sea Trout, and Sheepshead, but we also took down a Hog with chances at about a dozen others (if only us Yankees could shoot straighter!).
Capt Red is extremely professional, can work with all skill levels and goes out of his way to make sure everyone has the time of their lives! He even came back to our cottage to cook up the fish we caught, southern style!! Needless to say, this Yankee will be back next year for sure!
If your looking for a charter, go with the southern gent than can even charm the toughest of Yankees from Boston!!! This is your best bet in South Georgia!

My experience with Back Water Ventures was amazing. Capt. Red is a true professional and we shared many laughs throughout the trip. The sunset viewing was my favorite as Capt. Red took us to a great spot for viewing and watching the dolphins and other wildlife. 5 stars and well worth the money! I would recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy all the beautiful sights and sounds of the Low country. Special request Capt. Red's famous dolphin mating call and watch them all come swimming in.

Took a trip with Capt. Red to the Isle of Eight Shrimp Festival on Amelia Island, leaving from Glynn County. The tour was exceptionally executed and a great time for the wife and myself, as we slowed to look around Cumberland Island and many of the interior islands and waterways. With Backwater Ventures you get a guide who grew up on the waters of the Golden Isles and knows the ins and outs of the local history, environment and marine life that is abundant throughout. It's comforting to know that you'll be safe with a former member of the United States Coast Guard and will not only have a great time, but will learn a ton about the surrounding area whether you are a local or someone visiting from out of town.

I took some clients out with Capt. Red for an afternoon of fishing and an eco-tour. We saw lots of wildlife and he put us on the fish right away. He and his partner Russ were great guys and very knowledgeable about the area. We were very impressed and will be calling him up the next time we are in the area.
