Altony's Italian Cafe and Wine Bar

The good - Servings are robust; you won't leave hungry (and will probably need a box) Great wine menu! Great ambiance. The place "feels" good. Great menu selection. Lots of different types of dishes. My server was excellent. The bad - I didn't like the taste of their red sauce. It had too much of something in it but couldn't tell exactly what. It was overwhelming and I couldn't finish my meal because of it. It kind of ruined my first experience there. My girlfriend dining with me kind of said the same thing. I understand everyone's palette is different though so I encourage you to judge for yourself. Prices were on the high side I thought for pasta based dishes. The booth I sat in was repaired with gray tape. Kind of tacky and it stood out like a sore thumb. Overall I'd recommend trying this place out. I'm going to go back a few times and sample a few more dishes.

Good food, large proportions. Our waitress was new and made some mistakes. She was trying her best to serve us. That didn’t upset us as much as did the gentleman who told us she wasn’t doing a good job. Criticism should be gentle and private. Given a chance, she’ll do fine.

One of the best Italian places in town. Prices are very reasonable with a 8.97$ lunch menu during the week. A visit is a must

Large portions. Entryway is congested when people are trying to leave and coming in. Service was pretty good. They got an order wrong but immediately corrected it.

The prices are great, and the food was amazing with great presentation. The veal parmesan was the best I have had.
