AMC Houston 8

One of the worst AMC's I've ever been to. They had nothing in stock on the food menu, through the entire previews and beginning of the movie there was a curtain covering the top of the movie screen I went and told management and they fixed it, and the seats were disgusting and torn apart. See the pictures below. Will never be back. Do better AMC.

The theatre is the only one near downtown so there is not a lot to complain about. The theatre is clean, bathrooms are good too. The seats are not the most comfortable but they work just fine. The food and drinks are always great. If there are ever issues with the screen not working properly or the temperature not suitable, you can just ask the staff and they will fix it. Excellent customer service and police is always there for security. Street parking is free on Sundays. Vegetarian options on the menu. If you're an AMC member you can receive extra perks.

Convenient location to catch a movie if you were staying downtown and it’s raining as it was during my trip and very convenient for a matinee

I would love to give AMC downtown 5 stars but I'm giving them 4 so they have a little room to improve. The customer service is fantastic and location, location, location!!! The seats need to be updated and reupholsteredand I wish they would show more films in 3D but it's a great spot for movie junkies and only $5 on Tuesdays....

We went to the movies on a Wednesday night. There were few people in the theater but we still had to wait over 10 minutes in concessions at the bar. A supervisor walked through the bar and did not acknowledge us waiting even though we were the only ones there. She told an employee to come help us but no one came for at least 5 more minutes. The theater seats were torn and dirty. We walked down the entire aisle our seats were on and every cushion was damaged. I really did not want to sit down. During the middle of the movie, there were a lot of voices talking in the foyer that was making it hard to hear the movie dialogue. Perhaps another movie had recently let out and the doors to our theater had not been shut? It was distracting for a good 5 minutes. I have been to this theater many times — this was by far the worst experience I’ve had.

The staff were friendly, but unfortunately the theater was very, very dirty. Both women’s and men’s bathrooms were genuinely terrible, several stalls closed, others too terrible to use, and lots of grime on the floors. The theater floor and cup rests were sticky. Hopefully theater management will get the right number of staff in place to clean properly, we like being able to see a movie downtown.

I enjoyed my time here... It was so comfortable a dozed off a few times during the movie... Great movie by the way. I felt safe in the environment at this location. Decided to get out today for a nice bike ride and ended up at this theater. Thank management for the available bike rack. Overall great experience.

Parking can be problematic, but luckily we went late on a Sunday, found street parking on the side of the building. Staff were friendly, the seats were pretty comfy, and my friend and I were the only two people in the theater, so even better. The bathrooms... The sinks were in shambles, the toilets were slightly better.

If you don't want fleas or some sort of nasty infection so not go there. Bathrooms were horrible. Wet floor signs with caution tape over one stall and a trash bag covering another. I was surprised that there was soap and napkins. The staff was doing the bare minimum many workers playing around and on their phones. The seats in the theater are very worn and ripped. It really didn't feel sanitary at all.

Cash Only to Valet Park. We order the chicken tenders which where burnt and way to salty Movie was delayed we had a dark screen and could only hear the sound my husband went to go informed them. Then the movie started and a gentleman sits by the wheelchair area he’s not handicap and is flashing his phone light and has a backpack and starts pulling out items. He then takes off his shoes and starts putting hand sanitizer rubbing it on his feet. Then starts mumbling during movie pulls out his cigar and now it’s smelling. We left 20min into the movies. We spoke to the manager and when provided feedback to what was happening he just said we will get him out no worries and we literally paid for a movie we didn’t see and ruin the night. Theater was not worth the money. Save the trip ..
