I made a trip out to the Lansing location today and left a very happy customer. I am very happy with my purchase! They had an incredible selection for unbeatable prices. Their customer service was awesome. The sales associate who assisted me, Jamie was extremely helpful and kind! I will be shopping with them again!

About 6 weeks ago I went to purchase a living room set in the Lansing store. Sales people were very friendly the day of the furniture that I chose a camel colored living room set was not in stock I was told it could take up to 4 weeks to arrive. I was perfectly prepared to wait 4 weeks after I called the store to inquire and got a rude customer service representative who told me he was busy and would have to call me back in a very blunt tone apparently my furniture had arrived and been sitting there and nobody thought to call me to schedule delivery. So after delivery was scheduled the first time I was giveFord4 to 8 p.m. window. At 8:45 p.m. I was called by the delivery driver to be told they were still more than an hour away from my home, at this point I decline to delivery because 10 p.m. is not an acceptable hour to have strangers in my home with my children to sleep. So essentially I waited all day and was unable to leave my home for nothing. I rescheduled delivery for the next day which they did arrive during their scheduled time frame on day number 2 however the love seat had a nail / staple sticking out the back of it. At this point I should also mention the delivery driver smelled so badly of marijuana I had to crack the back door to my living room I was afraid my children were going to get a contact Buzz.Within 10 minutes of them leaving I had called the store and spoken to a woman I believe she was the manager very nice lady I told me they could get another one out to me. Fast forward six days to the arrival of my second loveseat and the new one has tape residue all over it from where the plastic and cardboard was taped to it that I cannot remove I have tried and a slice in the back of it at the top. There's no point in calling the store because apparently they're going to continue to send me defective furniture. I'm sure the manager thinks it's more trouble than it's worth at this point. I did purchase the extended warranty and if the slice gets larger I will be calling however I'm not holding my breath after reading other people's reviews of the warranty. This was my first and it will be my last experience shopping in an American Freight

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! If it were possible to rate this a 0 I would and I am not an easy person to make angry...
I first ordered a mattress, box spring and frame from this location on March 13. I was told that it was out of stock but worst case scenario it would be 4 weeks. I agreed, paid for the bed in full and was happy to wait. Then 2 weeks later my fiance left me so I went into the store to see about swapping out the King size that we ordered to a Queen, they couldn't do it over the phone but I was happy to go in since I was the one throwing the wrench in the original plan. That was the last time I would have a positive experience with this terrible business and even that experience was made incredibly uncomfortable by the staff who seemed to not understand that I didn't care to hear about his in depth personal situations and sexual preferences...awkward... So they changed the mattress size and informed me that the Queen size of the mattress was not stock either so it would be 4 weeks worst case scenario, however it would probably be in within 2.
I left and went on about my business for the four weeks. Going into the 5th I had not heard anything about the status of the mattress (do not expect any follow up) so I called to see what the story was. I spoke with one of their sales persons who said it would be an additional 2 weeks more and then hung up without letting me say anything further. So I waited 2 more weeks, going into the 3rd week I called again and this time spoke with the manager who was at least very apologetic about assured me that the order would be in that week and she would take $50 off (that did not happen...).
Luckily it arrived that Friday and so I called to schedule delivery around 5pm. The guy on the phone stated that it was being loaded as we spoke and it would be there within an hour or two. At 7:45 I called back to the store asking where the delivery was, the sales person could give no real information and just stated it would be soon. Finally at 8:45pm the delivery guys showed up. They took the bed upstairs (bitching about it, which seriously?!) and when I inquired about the frame that was supposed to be a part of the order they said it wasn't on the receipt and that if I wanted a frame I would have to return to the store and it would be a separate charge.
My guess is that during the oversharing and scaring time the sales person who swapped the king for queen size deleted the frame from the order, however given my experience with this company so far, I will take my hard earned money elsewhere.
I was originally planning to also purchase a couch from this store however after this experience, I have decided to go elsewhere. Instead I went to Gardner White, the sales man was knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. They sold me a huge, leather sectional that was $800 and it came with free delivery and lifetime warranty that protects against any damage/staining (free replacement or repair). AND they had the option to deliver it to me the next day. Honestly I would've paid the same price at American Freight and it would've most likely been out of stock and taken 2 months to get it, while having to call and hound them every step of the way.
GO ANYWHERE ELSE!! Find a store that is having a weekend sale, you will pay the same price, for better service and better quality. You will also receive you order sooner and it will be correct. Not missing pieces that you are told will now be an additional cost to you...
American Freight is a bunch of crooks and liars.

I was kinda a pain. Being indecisive, the guy who assisted me was very patient and kind As I walk I I notice he was in pain and arching his back.
Needs to say. Having a constant smile with me knowing he had a long day gave me the realization of great costumer service. Thank you.

What a scam! They advertised one thing online, but when you get there it’s nothing like what was advertised. Then they try to scam you into spending 4 times the amount you intended.
Lesson learned. I should have listened to everyone who told me it was a crappy place.
