Really nice memorial for disabled veterans. It's easy to access and places to sit down and read the quotes on the memorial walls . You can see the Capitol and are about 5 minutes walking distance from it if not less .
This memorial is very important. It really reminds you how much these people deal with to perfect our freedom. These are the "lucky" ones that get to come home, but they are far from being whole.
Very nice Memorial dedicated to those service members who have born the scars of serving on active duty. The gentle reflecting pool cascading over the edge is calming and soothes the ambience of this memorial tucked in between two very busy streets. More general parking, closer to the memorial, would increase the visitors at this park.
This is a very interesting memorial off the beaten path. It is worth the time to check it out.
Great place, it has fire on water. You don't see that everyday.
Disabled for life...the sacrifice that many gave for our country to keep us free. Respect and gratitude are the minimum we can and should give back. This is a memorial that is thought provoking in its many messages, is a sad reminder of the price many have paid and beautiful in its design. I noticed our friends reflection in the water so I took a picture of them. They love the picture and I am proud of it even though it was captured at such a solemn place.
This is a fantastic memorial that is missed by just about every DC tourist, which is a shame. It's wonderfully laid out with a huge star shaped water installation and a burning fire in the middle. It's not the largest of the monuments by any stretch, but you can definitely spend quite some time here looking at how well this memorial was designed.
I love this country I use to have hope faith love of God. I lost my leg in a bicycle acedent in 2003 before that I broke my back in four places I can't walk now due to that and one of four surgeries that were done by neglagent non xareing doctors in northern California. My uncle took a presendental Congressional medal of honor award in the Marines ,My son is a marine my uncle was a marine. My dad was Army all my uncles served my dad owned an American legion my uncle a veterans of foreign wars club I don't own A car . But I am a ticket w .
I have the ultimate respect for those that have lost their life. Many of which are recognized with the World War II, Korean and Vietnam Memorials. What was previously absent was recognition for those that lost all or part of who they were, but continued to live. I'm glad to have a memorial to visit for some. Hopefully one day, there will be official recognition for the thousands lost in 'noncombat', 'peacekeeping','training' and classified operations. Those heroes deserve more.
It's a little way off the National Mall surrounded by roads but somehow it all sounds muted. The memorial itself is simple amd clean but altogether powerful. No memorial will ever be sufficient to honor these soldiers but this it's important that we try.
