Great place with nice people. We stopped there to board our dogs on a cross-country trek and it was a great choice!

I have been bringing my little puppers here for quite some time. As long as I live in Ames, this is where I will take her. They take such good care of my baby!! They listen to my wants and execute it perfectly. Ashley is so amazing at what she does!! I would highly recommend this place. It is so clean and inviting. I am one of those super over protective dog moms but I can trust in this place to take such good care of her. I need to know what their secret shampoo is because it smells so amazing and lasts days after she leaves here. Thanks Ashley!!

Word to the wise: never leave your dog at Ames Pet Resort. 

We've boarded our dog there several times and never seemed to have a problem. This last time I met the manager, who checked my dog in. He mentioned he had been working with her with other dogs (she is dog aggressive). At the moment I was shocked that he 1. Did this without our permission and 2. Did this at all. Every time we bring our dog we always emphasize that she is dog aggressive, and while we are working on it with a trainer, we by no means want to put other dogs (or her) in danger. We decided to call the owner and complain about what the manager had done, especially since we have heard many other complaints about the manager here before. The owner was of course angry and agreed to meet with us when we picked up our dog. 

When we arrived to pick our dog up, the owner was not there for our meeting and decided the manager would instead only APOLOGIZE to us for what he did. They also credited our bill, but did NOTHING else. We thought we would get justice for the negligence that was happening, but instead didn't even meet with the owner and got a half-assed apology. We talked with him and told him about the dangers he put dogs in and how they could seriously be hurt. Our dog had already attacked another during a previous stay because of a different negligent employee. 

By the way, we didn't hear about the attack until several months later from a friend who had worked there. The manager and owner never bothered to tell us what happened when it happened.

This untrained and unqualified manager still works there and was not reprimanded, besides a "write up" in his file and a change in the employee manual. 

If you want your pet to be safe I would highly recommend you keep them away from Ames Pet Resort. By no means should you trust them to take care of your dog or cat.
