Anchor Pub & Grille

I am on the fence about this place. I have eaten here twice in the last month. My first experience was very good. The last one, not so much. The food is good, the portions are healthy, but the wait is too much. It states right on the menu board that it is a big bar with a small kitchen. So, if you're inclined to get plastered while you wait for your food, it might be the place for you. I don't drink and I had not eaten all day. IMHO, it was way understaffed for the Memorial Day holiday. Ownership or management needs to wake up. It's a holiday weekend and the start of tourist season but, there were only two waitresses on duty. They performed incredibly. Kudos! To them. Though ours got a little snitty at one point, I did not take it personally as I could see it wasn't directed at me, it was directed at her situation. Maybe I'll take up knitting before I go the next time.

Nothing fancy, very casual and a huge bar area but definitely fantastic food and so worth going. Anchor Pub & Grille CASH Only and weekends get busy. Having your own Lobster Boat makes a difference. Throughout the day they walk out front to their Lobster Boat and gather live Lobsters as needed. No cold water filtered tank, no sitting in a walk in... From the Ocean to the pot to your plate. Nearly a half pound of Lobster Meat in that roll for $20. It is a bit odd to be the biggest, the freshest, the tastiest, and the most affordable Lobster Roll on the planet for such a small local place... every once in a while you get it all. Keep it local folks! I can personally tell you it was one of the Best Lobster rolls I've ever had and I love that it isn't smothered in mayo. They do take out however you have to go in and order there, not over the phone and cash only...

Went with my Dad Tonite at 4 pm hoping to avoid the crowds....it worked!!! We were greeted and got a table right away. Got clam chowder and jalapeno poppers for appetizers, delicious. Dad got baked haddock dinner with 2 sides (9.95!!!) And I got a lobster roll and fries (19.95), both were excellent, couldn't have been fresher! I was thrilled the service was so good! I knew their seafood and prices were great, but in my previous experiences, the service was awful. Now I know..,4pm is the 'sweet spot'!!! When it comes to seafood, there IS no better quality! They get their fish fresh off the boat every morning!!!! They prepare it simply and deliciously, despite having a tiny kitchen. It's a good, old fashioned, elbows on the table, everyone knows everyone, New England watering hole.......with top quality, fresh seafood and no desire to get any fancier!

The anchor is awesome. The food is outstanding. The service is great. Everyone is so friendly. A great place to relax and unwind after a busy week. Most of the time you have to wait for a seat but it is truly worth it. 😁

Food was very good. At a fare price. The hospitality was excellent. I recommend anyone looking for good sea food give it a try. I'm sure you will be happy.
