This was literally the best traditional Italian-style pizza that I have eaten so far in New Orleans!! Hence, the place is cozy and the staff is super nice and welcoming. I will definitely come back soon!
Disappointing. The pizzas look good, partly because they have a proper Neapolitan crust: thin and soft at the bottom, thick and fluffy at the sides. However, neither pizza we ordered tasted great. The Margherita lacked flavor and was topped with mint instead of basil. It was nonetheless better than the Supreme, which had excessively salty olives and sausage. Worse still was the Italian wine, which tasted like vinegar at $13 per glass. The only decent dish we had were the antipasti. Don't recommend.
I read other reviews stating that their crust was the closest to Naples, and they were not exaggerating. It's the best crust and sauce I've had in the US. If you visit New Orleans and love pizza napolitana, this is a must try restaurant. You'll want to eat this pizza every time you visit. I will miss it so much. We had the the children's cheese, margherita, and diavola. Our favorite was the margherita pizza. I could eat this pizza every day.
One.of.the.best.pizzas.in.the.country. That dough! That dough. These are pros. The place, especially from the outside, doesn’t seem like a hotspot, but trust me. That dough! The toppings are amazing, the staff is friendly and professional. The pizza is just the tastiest. Anytime I’m around Nola, it’s a must for me.
The best appetizer ever. The place is very cozy and the staff so friendly! We ordered: Arancini, Bruschettas and The supreme pizza. We love it.
Paid $15.62 for gnocchi and received about 8 room temperature gnocchi. When I asked the wait staff about it she basically shrugged her shoulders. Cold overpriced mediocre food in a city with MANY great restaurants is not worth repeating.
So, being from New York we think we have the best pizza outside of Italy. Well, let me tell you, I am thankful we travelled from the French Quarter to dine at Ancora Pizza. Their brick fired oven and spot on recipe for making their dough is an absolute home run. We’ve had a few negative surprises during our stay in New Orleans but the pizza we had tonight makes our stay here worth while. Don’t miss it.
Crab meat gnocchi was the best gnocchi Ive ever had. Pizza is made with a homemade sour dough and comes out light but substantive. Cocktails rival most bars in the city - and that's saying something. Restaurant feels welcoming and like a community spot. Bar is lit by vintage bottles turned into hanging lights and the tables are rustic wood. Whole experience is just delightful
Always amazing! The staff is so friendly and the food is always awesome. You have to get the bruschetta! They used to have a drink called the Agra dolce which is the best cocktail ever. They will still make it if you ask. Such a great place for a date night with my wife or even with the whole family.
We had a great experience here. The thin neapolitan-style pizza was so good out of a fire oven! Friendly staff and good food, reasonable prices.Recommended dishesSupreme Pizza
