The only thing that makes this a tiki bar is that they have tiki mugs on display, which you cannot buy if you wanted - only for display. They have a scorpion bowl that was pretty good. The service was not. Both the guy at the door and the bartender were not super friendly. We were going to leave when we were told there was a $10 cover but then were told we could come in for free. Maybe the cover was because there was a band, which was pretty good. We would have stayed longer to enjoy the band and drink more, but they told my brother-in-law if he ordered another drink then he’d also have to pay the $10 cover. The drinks weren’t that good. There were hardly any tables inside, enough for about maybe 10 people to sit, and about 5 tables outside. There was a large, open floor like they expected people to dance but it was empty and completely awkward.
Nice dive-bar-but-not-really atmosphere, good drinks at a good price range. Food was tasty, provided by Meaux Bao by tiger. There was live music but we had to leave as we had a early conference to attend. Anyhow, seems like great place from my short experience, friendly and knowledgeable bartenders, good food, good environment.
Great intimate local music venue. Laid back ambiance. Friendly welcoming staff and patrons. Very clean and well kept bar. SUPPORT LOCAL! I can't wait to go back and play another show!
Great craft cocktails and live music. Limited food...spicy jumbalaya and crawfish. Staff was hammered with customers but was keeping up. Will definitely go back.
Visiting from out of town: the level of service here is unlike what you would experience in most places. The drinks are well crafted and delicious, true, but the friendly and accommodating service is what sets this place apart from most bars anywhere in the country. If you're anywhere near here, this is a friendly, casual bar who's attitude belies the quality of the cocktails... and I think that's the point. We'll be back!
Great mashup of dive, tiki, and craft cocktail bar. Super friendly staff. Highly recommend.
PLEASE BRING BACK MY FAVORITE BAR! Hidden gem. Cool atmosphere, great staff, and awesome drinks.
Stopped while in the neighborhood to catch a parade, bartender not friendly in the least but my husband enjoyed talking to the guy that was boiling crawfish, which were delicious.
Possibly the best hidden gem Cocktail bar in New Orleans, definitely in the LGD area. Friendly, talented bartenders put mix some top level Tiki Cocktails for reasonable prices in a clean comfortable space with lots of character. I happened to go on a night the owner was serving some delicious Red Beans and Rice for free. No lie, they were really good, this is coming from a born and raised local. If they were on the menu I'd probably be in there once a week just for the beans.
100% recommend. Amazing tiki drinks with fresh squeezed juices, fun vibe and jovial crowd. Also the saints were playing today and the spirit in that bar for the team was insane, what a community! Will return when in NOLA again.
