Apex Dental - Murray

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this dentist (Dr. Hodge). I got two crowns done and have had nothing but problems. My gums around the crowns always hurt whenever I chew food, floss, and brush. I went in a few times to see If they could do anything, but Dr. Hodge eventually gave up and gave me a referral for some other specialist. It's been almost a year and the problem has gotten worse. I requested a partial refund, but all they would offer was a "free consultation", but couldn't guarantee any charges after that would be covered. They do everything they can to pinch pennies and lose customers. Fortunately, I found a dentist who actually cares about his patient's well being, and not just their wallet. I won't be stepping another foot into Apex Dental.

Dr. Hodge is one of the nicest, most caring, and fun humans I’ve had the pleasure of knowing! He’s been my dentist for years now and it’s always a joy to see his smiling face when I have an appointment. I never use to enjoy going to the dentist (who does) but just knowing he is part of the process eases my mind and makes the experience great. The staff in Murray is always so nice and helpful, as well!

My 4 yr old son and I have been going to this office for a year now, and I am a little surprised by the bad reviews on here! Dr. Hodge was amazing to my son, even his first trip to the dentist (a year ago) couldn't have gone better. The staff is very friendly, amazing and smart, Especially Jasmine! The office is state of the art! Every encounter I've had has been very pleasant. I think Dr. Hodge is friendly, funny, quick with his work, (I wasn't left waiting in the chair forever) and his staff is great! I would recommend anyone to come here. I had a crown replaced recently, and Dr. Hodge used local anesthetic and that was a game changer. I was in and out within an HOUR. While at the dentist last time, I was offered a blanket (because it was cold) and sunglasses (in case it was too bright). Come on!!! That is amazing service right there! Melissa, the assistant didn't leave the room, she kept asking if I was doing ok - seriously, the staff is great. Today, the hygienist Amy kept putting vaseline on my lips because they were dry. That's top shelf service! If you're complaining about the price -- READ THE FINE PRINT, do your research and realize that dental hygiene is not the cheapest thing in the world. Budget for it and do preventative maintenance. It's cheaper to brush and floss than it is to get certain dental work done! Consider insurance, or even changing insurance companies if it's too expensive

Before every appointment, i get a threatening call stating there will be a $25 fee if i dont appear. Last 2 appointments my dentist didnt show and was sick. I've had extensive work done here. Multiple fillings, a crown, their other office pulled 4 wisdom teeth for me, I've had laser perio treatments, I've had 2-4 cleanings a year for nearly 3 years. I also went to Apex ortho for braces. I don't write a 2 star review to bash but to provide constructive criticism. I've never carries a balance and pay for my treatments on the day of service. Billing office tried to bill my insurance for another patients work (not even similar names). I received a bill at home with a threat of collections. Called several times and was sent a few more notices threatening collections before they cleared up. Also, services advertised as "free" for monthly promotions were billed to my insurance company. I was not charged when the insurance company declined payment -- but it's shady at the least. Currently looking for new dental provider.

Love my experience so far. They are reasonable and affordable.
