Best place in Columbus for Korean food to-go! We like the bulgogi kimbap, soondobu and other stews from the market. Takes 15-30min to prepare so order restaurant food first then shop. The restaurant folks have great panchan sides to go with purchased food and you can buy more from the fridge- the sliced radish kimchi is amazing and their house kimchi is better than the other brands they sell. From the store we get our staples like seaweed rice topping, barley tea, and Ottogi sesame oil. Next door the Japanese friend chicken place is a good place to get more food to go while waiting on your stew order. The restaurant team is so friendly and thoughtfully packed our things up in a box for the drive home.
Food is delicious. Love the food court. However the guy at the front register is always pretty rude. Perhaps he’s the owner of the place? He makes people feel very unwelcome and half the time I can’t even understand what he’s saying. When ordering take out, I ordered an hour in advance, agreed on the pick up time and was told food was not even prepared when I arrived on time. He just looked at his watch and offered no apology. Thumbs down for you, dude.
They have everything you need for Korean and Asian groceries. I got everything I needed for KBBQ at home and I can always find a great selection of tteboki and ramen here
At the little dining area, lots of food options to choose from, with free barley tea. I liked my kimbap and tteokbokki. Folks there speaking Korean and many other languages - always a good sign. Thanks!
Clean market. Quite varied selection of Asian/ Korean groceries. I went in to get dumplings and some foods from the restaurant. All was great.
This is definitely a great place to have Korean food for the first time! The tteobokkii and the Bulgogi are amazing and they have all types of interesting snacks. It's really cool, especially if you're into the Korean culture
UPDATE: The restaurant in the back is open again!! This is the place to go for authentic Korean food, you really can't do better than the little restaurant hidden away in the back of this market. Prices are great, food is delicious and spicy. Absolutely a must visit in Columbus.
I love this market. I always go when I'm hungry so I can get the jolmyeon at the restaurant in the back of the store. Then you can shop around and get a dessert too! Would recommend. They have all kinds of noodles, fish cakes, snacks, sauces, drinks, and some produce.
Deserves NO STARS. Yesterday was my first and last time visiting this store. I pleasantly greeted the male at the register upon entering and prior to asking for direction. He was more interested in his phone than assisting me. I felt like an intruder as he barely acknowledged my presence before annoyingly gesturing toward items he thought I was asking for. His English was just fine. I was his problem. He responded with a basic brush off when I inquired about a second product. He was rude, unwelcoming and lacks basic customer service skills. I took my business to Kroger on Bethel where the manager AND floor person were more than happy to help. Mission accomplished thanks to KROGER'S wonderful employees.
Great spot for Asian/Korean foods! ESPECIALLY their house made ban chan.
