Volunteers provide essential services to Salem-Keizer & Chemawa students, foster care youth, & homebound adults. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Our ALL-VOLUNTEER nonprofit manages & staffs 8 programs for Salem-Keizer residents in need. Our services to students provide sets of NEW CLOTHES to 3,000 students referred by school counselors; SCHOOL & ART SUPPLIES; PERFORMING ARTS and PUPPET SHOWS; BOOKMOBILE VISITS to all first grade classrooms; DENTAL HEALTH SCREENINGS; and birthday celebrations for HOMELESS children. FOSTER CARE YOUTH receive furnishings and mentoring for independent living. HOMEBOUND ADULTS receive monthly visits by volunteers delivering library books.
Two retail shops staffed by volunteers provide funding for these programs: DAUE HOUSE GIFT SHOP and ENCORE CONSIGNMENT FURNITURE. Our annual LASAGNA LUNCH, sponsorships, donations and grants provide additional funding.
