Great location and value. Keep in mind this is a very busy and high traffic area since it runs parallel to Bourbon Street. Check in was okay; we had recently upgraded to the Ambassador status and thought we were getting the complimentary weekend night stay but apparently you have to make sure you pay in advance; learn from our mistake! Hotel itself is a bit dated. Hallway and room smelled musty; hotel seems to be having an issue with humidity...one of the electrical outlets had mold forming around it, which was a bit concerning. The pool is quite small and was too cold to use. Never did figure out where breakfast was. Otherwise, our stay was fine. My husband particularly enjoyed waving to the "frat boys" in the room perpendicular to us. They left their hotel room door open all the time my guess is that they wanted to see everyone who came down the hall. My husband also delighted in standing by the door listening to the "frat boys" getting into drunken arguments with neighbors, such as one particular exchange where the "frat boys" loudly accused a neighbor of calling security on them while the neighbor accused the "frat boys" of calling security on them. If you enjoy being on the sidelines of this sort of drama my husband certainly did, you are going to have a splendid time!
If I could have left a NEGATIVE rating I would have! We travel a lot and maintain the diamond status. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT with this place. We got in at 1PM and was told they have valet parking but we’d have to park our own BLOCKS away. So while he parked I proceeded to check in. There are TWO cards kept on file but she had to have in her hand…so I waited on him to get back. By then there was a young male who checked us in and he never asked for cards. The furniture in the lobby and room was all outdated. Our room was outdated and even though it advertised fridge and microwave in the rooms…LIE! On 2 different days we had housekeeping come and neither day did they give us a new tissue box. We had to request one. The best thing I can say is the location was good. But there’s LOTS more places you can choose from and I HIGHLY recommend you do. We checked out 6 days later and they wouldn’t provide a ride to the car. We spend a lot of money with these hotels to not receive the level that is expected and advertised. So…VERY DISSATISFIED!!!
The good: Check in was quick and easy. The security staff there are very polite and the hotel seems very secure. The room itself was pretty clean as well as the common spaces hallways, elevators, common areas in lobby. It was pretty standard in all ways. The bed was fairly comfortable and the linens appeared clean. The bad: The bathroom was disgusting. My party got supplies to clean it ourselves. Mold was growing in the grout lines of the shower, several hairs and a bug were found in the tub, and a used sliver of soap was on the side of the tub. The tub leaked constantly. There were also crumbs in the carpet of the main living area. The walls here were thin enough I could hear the guests in the next room using the bathroom. Not really what you want to hear at 8am. We also selected a room with a view of Canal St. and our only view was of the roof of a building beside the hotel. I would not recommend upgrading to a room with a view, because there is no guarantee you will receive one. At the end of our stay, the valet took around 30 minutes to bring our car.. and brought the wrong one.. we waited a very long time considering how much the valet service here costs.
I stayed here this past week and everything was wonderful! The staff was super friendly, the common areas and the room were very clean. There were a few carpet stains and dents in the room, but nothing major. The hotel is right in the heart of New Orleans and close to all my favorite bars and restaurants. Sadly, the hotel restaurant was closed during our stay. I wish that I had been notified when booking a room. Overall, a wonderful stay and I plan on staying there again!
Great stay. Our room was perfect! No complaints. You can walk right out onto bourbon st from the hotel. Does not have parking and you have to pay for their parking valet service, which is $50 additional per day. That was the only downfall. Hotel was clean and beautiful. Staff was friendly and helpfulRooms: 5/5
The location of this hotel is perfect. Bourbon Street is right around the corner. The restaurant attached was really good. I would have given four stars except for our room. We were right behind the elevators and it was like sleeping by a subway all night. The room was clean but it was a little bit ran down. We were given our credit for the loud elevator, I doubt we were the first to complain. Lobby was very nice New Orleans grand.
Absolute rubbish. The place is a wreck. Under our bed we found all sorts of items including ear plugs Vicks, a cigar, tissues and socksOur room had not been made up in 3 days and when we questioned reception each day they just said sorry. The hotel was filthy and the service is at best terrible. We had 2 people open our door randomly through the night/ morning. When confronting the manager about the room not being made up, he said house keeping has left and there is nothing we can do but bring some towels. We are leaving 2 days early, I’m happy for some homeless people to take our room for 2 days. Booked through Qantas - advertising makes it look much better than it is. Very misleadingThere was no hot water for showering on day 2. The cleaning of the rooms is non existent. The Toilet had not been cleaned and had blood down the front of it when we arrived, bed not cleaned under for possibly 15 years. Had room 420 which backed onto the elevator shaft so the mechanical noise was constantly loud. The location is on the corner of Bourbon street so if that is the scene you are looking for it is central.
Nice hotel on the start of Bourbon Street. Doesn’t have the typical French quarter style. Valet is offered at this hotel but you will be waiting a few minutes about 20 of requesting your car at the times when the theater gets out. It was a 8 minute walk from hotel to the parking garage. We chose this option a few times so we could just hop in our car and go. There is not an option to text for car retrieval, which would be a nice addition as this is such a congested area and this was during the off season. Queen beds are standard size and bathroom as a little on the smaller side with a tub/shower combo. Towels at this location were not full size, and were not thick/soft. Shampoo, Conditioner and 2-in-1 all on the walls for easy dispensing but no body soap or body lotion provided. There is a restaurant inside the hotel but we didn’t try it as the hotel is perfectly located for various restaurants/bars/cafes! This hotel offers a heated pool in doors but it’s closed during the winter months. Doesn’t make much sense to have a heated pool of patrons can’t use it in the winter months.
