The listing of “Chartres House” is erroneous and refers to The Quarter House, a holiday apartment rental, at 129 Rue Chartres in the French Quarter. See photos and review listed correctly under The Quarter House. There is no such establishment as “Chartres House”. Also the map for this non-existent establishment puts it on the wrong side of Rue Chartres and in the 2d block, whereas the actual location ofThe Quarter House is in the 1st block n the left, not the 2d block on the right
This is a hard review because I loved staying at the custom house. So many amenities from Sunday brunch to Monday wine and cheese also live entertainment. . We arrived to a dirty room and were promptly given a new smaller room. Which was okay because it was clean. The front desk workers are either hit or miss. Extremely nice or extremely rude. That would be my only complaint. But overall I had a wonderful stay.
Right in the heart of the French Quarter, the Quarter House is close to everything a visitor would want in New Orleans. There's all the very considerable charm of the area, exquisite restaurants nearby, Canal street for shopping and nightlife and so much more! As for the hotel, it has kept its old world beauty AND still provides every room amenity. I felt like a statesman there. The customer service was excellent, rooms super clean and the staff so very nice. When you come here, enjoy!
We Loved it room, sitting area table and full kitchen Perfect to be able to warm up leftovers. Courtyard was so cute! Service was excellent. We had family here from out of town and we could have time to site see and then enjoy time together!Rooms: 5/5
This was our third time staying here. The rooms are spacious, well appointed, and quiet. Being in the French Quarter and less than a block from Canal Street, this is a great spot to get everywhere.Rooms: 5/5
My friend and I have travel to this location for a vacation for a couple days. We spent a lot of money to visit new city As a birthday gift. When we chat then after airport and was so tired we were not even able to take a shower because there was lots of hair in the shower plus glass and the shower itself was not working. We had to use another one to take a shower the following day we went out after coming back we had mice running around. We had to run out in the middle of the night with our luggage not knowing where we were going since there was nothing available for check and since it was a football game and everywhere it was booked. We try to ask for a manager in the lobby and there was no assistance available and no manager inside so we were left on the street with no assistance. All the hotels nearby were booked. What a horrible experience!!! Stay away!!!
Pros, big room, plenty of facilities in rooms like fridges and washing machines, great shower and moreCons, horrible internet at least in my room $200 dollar emergency fee and could hear other guests rather clearly. Great place if you are visiting New Orleans bad bad if you ate like me and don’t have internet here.Rooms: 5/5
