The room was nice, decor was interesting but went well with what NOLA is. Specially the frame that says "Can you see me" right in the living room. Kind of creepy but not a surprise to see something like that. It had me very intrigued when I walked through the door. Service was great. Very welcoming, helpful and sweet staff. I'm in between on the location because it was nice to have everything near by but the noise at night is brutal. I slept maybe 10 hours in the 3 days I was there. Nearby activities: Multiple choices of food nearby. The closest place is literally right next door to the hotel. Other good ones are 2-5 min walk. Tour buses will pick you up wherever you're at. Walkability: Everything you could possibly need you can walk to. The furthest thing I did was about 10 minutes away.
Absolutely LOVED our stay!! Girls trip!! The staff were all super sweet!! One employee even threw her hands up in the air and was super chill with us. Everything was clean! Decor was so cool. The location is amazing! Just off the square. Walking distance between everything fun. I can't say enough good things about this wonderful place!! I can't wait to be back again!!
I enjoyed a short stay here of 2 nights. Great location, wonderful security, lots of hot water, and the staff was extremely helpful. There was some noise garbage truck early which lasted for about 10 minutes and those complaining about that will just never be satisfied. I would definitely stay here again. Rooms: 5/5
Let’s start with the good: the staff here is very nice, and the location is fantastic in terms of being central. You’re next to a 24hr convenience store and ATM, a block into the French Quarter and walkable to all of that, and a block from Canal Street for easy Uber rides without having to make them drive into the Quarter. The rooms are clean, and have a cute little “living room” area and kitchenette with microwave, sink, and fridge. But the Queen beds are a bit small — definitely hard with my 6’5” husband. And there’s a small desk on one side of the bed, when 2 night tables would be more useful so both people could put a water by the bed, for example. The beds are fine in terms of comfort — although the pillows do feel more like hard cotton balls than the ones you get at a nice hotel. The biggest complaint I had was the noise. The photos online show this place as being on a quiet side street with pretty balconies facing the street. Our room faced the alley, was always dark and yes I know you don’t spend your day in the room, but it’s nice to wake up to light — and had the loudest alley noise at 2am, 3am, 4am, 5am, etc. Garbage trucks, some sort of other trucks, more garbage trucks, workers rolling trash cans into the alley to dump bottles, etc. One of the hardest times I’ve had sleeping in New Orleans in 10 years of coming here unfortunately.
I came to NOLA for a friends birthday trip and it was nothing short of amazing. It is nice to have a place to stay that it close to just about everything, nothing over a 20-30 min drive. The service was 10/10, Danielle and Suge were great and very thorough with showing us how to get into our building, suggesting restaurant and the best party spots. I would recommend anyone to stay here, the bathroom was clean, including the shower. The bed was comfortable and the water was hot hot. The area is quiet at night and not too many people just sitting around outside the building. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
Please Find Updates below! I visit Nola frequently and enjoyed my stay here over St Patrick's Day weekend. Sadly, I can't post a good review because of the service I've received since checkout. I left a few items in the closet. The hotel told me they found my clothing and sent me an email to cover the shipping, which I did. They have yet to ship my clothes, and the front desk keeps giving me the runaround. The clothes were rentals, so now I have to pay for them, and I lost the postage I paid to have them shipped to me. It's all adding up to a lot of money. I'm pretty unhappy that someone decided to run off with my clothing. It's not cool. Changing this to five stars : I got a hold of the correct person and the hotel resolved the issue! I 100% recommend staying here :
BLUEGREEN, BLUEGREEN, BLUEGREEN -What a waste of money! It never fails!! Service was terrible! Manager Racheal was very rude and careless-Stand Clear of Her- We brought our service dog on our trip and as nosy as she was she interrogated me, Asking questions that were against the law, and because I didn't answer those questions she got upset and started hollering at me. She should NOT be a manager there. "I should not have a dog in the room" "You need to find a pet hotel for him" and" He is barking consistently" which he did bark once because he found her as a treat- which she was. Also, they didn't give us the room that we bought with our points. _People there are lazy and get upset when you ask them to make it right, so we had to wait for our room after check-in time. Parking, there is no parking unless you're at Bluegreen and have to wait for an Uber to pick up and drop you off from the Marquee which is a 20-minute walk limit 3xs only!. Hotel, Very spooky almost like a haunting feeling don't recommend staying there with children. Kitchen and blinds were broken I recommend checking everything before going into your room Location, Very good, walking distance to everything including French Quarter and Jackson Square. Overall, things got out of hand and I didn't feel comfortable with my family there, Broken things, and no friendly staff. Feelings of spirits and Racheal all over the hotel. Bluegreen had to move us to Marquee, which has a more up-to-date, friendly-helpful staff, and is convenient to get to and from our vehicle. _Read my review on the Marquee...
Pros: location! A short walk to the French Market, street cars on Canal Street, Bourbon Street etc. Close enough to the action without most of the noise. We felt safe. Historic building with renovated rooms that try and feel fancy/boutique. Staff was friendly. Cristina a concierge booked and saved us money on a number of local attractions and excursions. Cons: location? The building is relatively narrow and most rooms windows face the alley behind, which is full of dumpsters. Their website acknowledged the noise you should expect being this close to the busy French Quarter, and they offer white noise machines in the rooms. Even using them we were consistently woken throughout the night, garbage collection, sirens, commercial vehicle backup alarms etc. I've stayed in many hotels and many Bluegreen resorts throughout the country. I don't recall any mattress being this firm and uncomfortable. Called down to the front desk around 7 pm to request an extra padded mattress cover or duvet and was told that house keeping was gone for the day and their equipment/room is locked. They did however drop off an extra comforter the next day which made the mattress tolerable. As a renovated old building, I'm sure there are a number of differently laid out floor plans but we felt like the furniture was poorly selected for the space. Tiny couch in the "living area" surrounded by an oversized floor lamp and decorative floor safe. The bedroom had an undersized little dresser/TV stand with two small drawers. The bed had a night stand only on one side. There was a good sized closet plus a second indented wall space that could have had further shelves or a closer clothing rod but had neither. The bathroom was nice however. Our room had a small kitchenette which fit our needs but the hotel lacks much in terms of shared amenities. No lounge with chairs, no pool. The building is split with two separate entrances. Our side has a sun deck on our floor #7 with a few metal tables and chairs. No padding on the chairs, no umbrellas etc. Unfortunately the wall was mostly too high to see over, so not much of a view. Many people in other rooms like to use the deck for smoking. The other building sun deck on level 4 was somewhat nicer and included a grill, behind machines and an ICE machine. Many of those rooms appeared to be nicer, with their own little balconies or Juliet balconies. Our room was next to the elevator, which was loud through the wall and we got to hear it run almost constantly night and day. We attended a bluegreen sales meeting to "pay" for us to park our vehicle for the week, at their other/newer location, the Marquee. The sales folks were friendly but we were told to expect 2 hours and at 2 hr 45 minutes we had to ask multiple times to leave as we had tickets for a ghost tour that we were otherwise going to be late for. We are thankful for that presentation though as we were able to tour the Marquee. It was far and away nicer than Club La Pension including a rooftop deck with pool. It felt like a resort, this felt like a tiny budget hotel. Previously we stayed on this same block at La Galleria hotel. It was great compared to La Pension. In the future we would definitely return to NOLA but would sacrifice convenience of location within the French Quarter to stay at the Marquee instead.
Mold , rain on drywall ceiling, awful smell, we left the place right away and booked another hotel. They took money for a night anyway. Bad experience with the customer service also because after a month still didn’t get the rest of the money back so I had to call again. And overall they gives the room not in the main building but in a different location 100 feet away from there with a very disgusting entrance.
Neat, 200 year old building furnished with eclectic furniture that was not very comfortable. Convenient to many must see venues but close to a noisy firehouse and lots of street noise. No garage parking. Nearby activities: Bring your walking shoes or enjoy a Lyft ride. French Market, mall, casino, river boats, and restaurants nearby. Walkability: Old sidewalks with lots of uneven blocks and potholes. No benched to stop for a break.
