I got a coffee from here and they did not have any creamer, milk, or normal sugar. I asked them if they had any creamer or normal milk and they said all they had was warm skim milk and sweet & low. I looked for other food but no one is offering to take your order. I honestly thought they were closing until I asked about the creamer. I didn't want to be rude so I bought the $3 coffee and dumped it out in the bathroom.
Cafe located inside the Maryland medical center. Mostly services the hospital staff & faculty & students of UMB campus. Coffee is dispensed, just ok
This location is just inside the main hospital entrance. It works out okay if you work on campus or near campus. I don't think that the quality of food is as good as other Au Bon Pain restaurants that I have visited, and the cost is much much higher. If you are going to eat here you might as well just eat in the hospital cafeteria. If you are just looking for somewhere to grab a quick coffee, this will probably work.
Worst customer service, the server had an intimidating face not letting me finish reading the menu. I asked her what was her hurry, I need to be sure about the food. Her answer was, I am finishing my shift and I want to go home. I was about 4:20 ist... I understand people get tired and her actitud makes me think that she is not happy with this job, but it is not our fault. We, as relatives of the patients who are in the hospital, have enough to deal with being at the hospital to also be mistreated by the people who serve within the hospital's adjacencies. Food is good but the personal is very rude.
Used to be fine, but for the past 1.5ish weeks they haven't even had ice for iced coffees, they don't have any of the stuff to make basic coffee drinks which is ridiculous. Sadly there isn't anything else on the campus open after 3 so you have to walk multiple blocks just to get a basic iced coffee to avoid this place. If they actually have the stuff and CAN make a drink they are usually good although overpriced.
Ridiculously high prices, $6.97 for a slice of lemon bread and cinnamon crescent. They don't have CREAMER!! They were out of skim milk and almond milk, we asked for some They said they were out. Bad management!
The place is clean, except for the birds flying around inside the hospital. I had to wait about 10 minutes before being waited on as the person was busy filling containers with mayonnaise. The sandwich was fine, but very light on the actual contents. It seems that they have a somewhat trapped patronage and are thus less likely to do much beyond the minimum.
Why is this place still open. They never have eggs, crossaints, sugar & cream, it's always an issue. Always closing for short hours. PLEASE replace the whole store nightshift needs to eat too. I hate it here.
Capitalism doesn't seem to work here. The food runs out early, and they don't seem to care.
My overall experience here was good. I usually only have coffee so it was my first time eating here for lunch and I wasn't sure what to have. The young lady making the food this Thursday was extremely helpful. I think she must be the newest one as the girls who work here don't usually speak to me. Her recommendation was really good and the guy who checked me out was very friendly as well. I was a bit uncomfortable while waiting for my sandwich to be made hence the 3 star rather than higher as there was a guy stocking the cooler who kept staring at me. He was slightly portly with glasses. Other than that, my experience here was quite pleasant, and I'd go back
