I went for a regular trim and had a great experience!! I went for the sophomore cut (only $19!) and she was really sweet, polite, and great at what she did. It does take a while because the students are still learning (~2 hours for a shampoo, cut, blowout) but totally worth it. The products, the shampoo room, and the prices are all great! If you go, ask if Kiara is there because she is amazing!

Let me start out by saying that I would give this place zero stars if I could. I called about two weeks ago because I had questions about their different types of blowouts (there was no description of each on the website). I wanted to make an appointment for a blowout before my senior graduation pictures because my hair is very thin and lifeless and I wanted it to look nice. No one answered my call, instead the only option I was given was to leave a voicemail and my number so they could call me back, I did! I waited a whole business day; no one returned my call. I called again the following day and was asked once again to leave a voicemail. Finally, I gave up and chose to go ahead and book an appointment online even though they wouldn’t reach out to me and explain their services. A few hours after booking, I FINALLY received a call from someone at Aveda informing me that they didn’t take weekend appointments and that I would need to walk in on Saturday morning instead. She told me that they open at 8:15. I arrived at Aveda this morning at 8:18. I went up to the front desk, both ladies at the reception desk acted confused by my presence. I explained that I was there for a blowout appointment, as instructed. The receptionist told me there were no appointments available and that they were all booked. I explained how I called and tried to book weeks earlier but was told to come in person. She told me they open at 8am and that I should have called to make an appointment that morning if I wanted a blowout which was a COMPLETE contradiction of what I was told over the phone. Also, the door of the building clearly says they open at 8:15, so I have no idea how I was supposed to know they start taking calls at 8? The receptionist was completely
unapologetic and acted annoyed that I was even asking her questions. I will NEVER be back to Aveda for any reason.

I just started getting hair cuts here. My regular stylist would not listen to me when I said I wanted to grow out my hair. She kept cutting my old style. At least the students listened to me so I can get my hair to the length I want. I have had 3 different students cut my hair. I am returning. I also have gotten other services from the Aveda school.

I went here for a haircut. I have *had* for the last 5 years super long very thick healthy hair. I told the stylist (who was very sweet) that I would like to *keep* it long (and I showed her the length I would like it to be) and would like long layers. She seemed to understand and went about the haircut.
I left in shock. Not only was my hair shorter than I had communicated, she thinned it with thinning shears so much, that the normally healthy wavy full thicks ends are wispy and dry and ragged looking. It actually looks less healthy than when I went in. I called the next day to give them some (friendly) feedback and told them that for what I think she was going for, I *think* she did a good job, but a) I don’t cut hair and b) for what I had wanted, I was & am super disappointed. They offered to correct it, either with the same or a different stylist but I will *never* trust my hair to them again. *Update* I went to Blo in Raleigh (they’ve won Best Salon of the Triangle for the last manymany years) to have this awful “trim” corrected and they told me not only was my hair uneven in length, but the thinning was done wrong, which is why it looked and felt so bad. They fixed as much as they could but unfortunately had to take 2.5 more inches off of my hair and told me some of it will just have to grow out and be chopped off unless I want short hair. It will probably take 6 months-1 year to grow it out, chop off the remaining awful bits and have it looking like my previous healthy hair. The end.

Went in for a haircut, facial, & eyebrow wax. The haircut went over time because the student spent too much time styling it to post on her Instagram profile, & so they didn’t have time for the facial that I booked an appointment for. For the eyebrow wax, the student didn’t test the temperature beforehand & now I’m tending to first degree burns on my eyebrows.
