Babylon Hookah Lounge

Went there a few times during my stay in NY. The hookah is nice and you have lots of customization options including milk base and pineapple head. Staff is prompt and helpful. This place gets really crowded at night.

It was an interesting lounge. Friendly servers. The services and items on menu are a little too overpriced for what it is. Had two areas to hangout. Definitely need to stop repeating the same songs over the course of the night. Security officer at the front door in charge of pat-down needs to be taught non confrontational interactions. He seemed to have a serious ego issue from my minimal interaction. That was my first impression of the location, and you would think the owners would put a friendly and courteous employee at the door.

I think that this place has significantly improved or maybe coz I didn’t come during the crowded hours. I think I was here around 8:30 pm. We were seated shortly after we told to order the hookah in the bar. The hostess was quite accommodating and kept us updating about the place. We ordered pan masala which is nowhere to be found in the city except in India and it’s the best!! They did make the hookah really smooth. We also ordered a Turkish coffee( I must say that it was quite strong), hummus pita( was tasting well). They have an aquarium which is Tripp’s with neon colored fishes and lights. I don’t personally prefer super loud music as it gets hard to talk but guess that’s the theme of the place. So can’t complain.

I have visited Babylon a number of times. This place is quiet and fun until 9pm. After 9pm it turns into a club with loud music and loads of people. Also usually at nights there is a cover charge. The hookahs are good and I really like their paan masala flavor. The food is average.

There are much better, friendlier, and more affordable hookah spots than this one. The customer service here was terrible and they kept trying to price gouge my group even though we were already spending a lot of money. Isn’t it illegal to force your customers to pay for water when you’re serving them alcohol? If not then it’s unethical at the very least. You can find more welcoming and attentive service for the money you spend somewhere else.
