The Crocodile Lounge is a cute bar that you wouldn't really notice if not for their sidewalk chalkboard sign. It is located down a few steps, under a green awning.
The main draw of this place is that you get a ticket/voucher to redeem a personal pizza for every drink you purchase. The pizzas, while nothing to write home about, are hot, made fresh, and very much welcome after a few drinks. You can add toppings to your pizza for a surcharge. There is a photobooth in the back room (where the pizzas are made), which takes cash or credit and charges $5/2 strips. The interface is very confusing, and as such it is too easy to accidentally pay for an additional 2 strips. I'm sure this is no accident.
Overall, the place was packed on a Friday night in February, and the bartenders were busy (sometimes difficult to get their attention), but it was still a good time. Very cozy, very cute, lovely pizza gimmick. I'd go back for a large get-together.

One of the best kept secrets in the East Village. Reasonably priced drinks. And with every drink, a free freshly baked personal cheese pizza. Toppings $1 each. Bartenders are generous with their pours. A real hidden gem. Why am I publicising it here?

I absolutely hate this place and tell no one to go. I had an experience where I forgot to show my ID at the front door and the guard was too busy watching YouTube videos on his phone to be paying attention. I accidentally walked past him and he grabs me by the arm harshly and says to show him my ID. Alrighty there is a problem here. I do and the tell him to not touch me again and go to walk into the bar. He then proceeds to GRAB MY ARM AGAIN and said something that I don’t even remember because I was so furious at this point. I go into the bar obviously very upset and tell my friends what happened and the guard sees me talking to them and comes into the bar to tell me he’s going to kick me out because “everyone else is here having a good time and you just have a bad attitude” (cause that’s a good excuse to kick someone out I guess??). At this point I’m done talking with him and ask to see the manager. Once I approach the manager all I get from her is “well he’s actually a great guy”. I’m sick of people defending people who harass other people. Crocodile lounge needs to hire people who care, who don’t slack on their jobs due to watching YouTube videos and also YOUR PIZZA SUCKS.

Cheap drinks and free pizza with each drink? I'm there! Well, the pizza isn't really free - they make you tip them, but it's still a good deal. I'm not sure if only certain drinks come with a ticket for a free pizza, but I think we only got it for certain drinks. But we had just come from dinner so it's not like we would have been eating a ton of pizza anyway.
Once you're ready for the pizza, you take the ticket to the back where they actually make it. It's a small pie that's probably equivalent to 1.5 regular slices. It tastes pretty okay.
I don't really hang out in this neighborhood but next time I'm in the area, I wouldnt mind coming back!

Cute pub with young and happy crowd. The prices are reasonable and considering u get a fresh personal pizza with each drink makes it a good bargain. It's not fancy and kinda without a clear line, but it has it's charm.
