We just purchased sleeping bags at the Retail Store here in Salt Lake City. We were lucky enough to run into Jeremiah, who is AMAZING in his knowledge of backpacking, gear and outdoor expertise.  Jeremiah made our shopping experience very fun and every question we asked him was met with a solid answer. He was very fun, helpful and patient. We asked him questions about an upcoming hike and he knew the area well and he had great suggestions for us. He was spot on with suggestions to our purchase and and made this shopping experience great! Backcountry, you are FORTUNATE to have someone like Jeremiah as an employee. Keep him!!! Great store and great products! Thanks!!!

Awesome! Ordered a tent online (beat other competitors by $130!) and received it the following day (they had free 2 day shipping). Super impressed with their shipping speed. Received an email from their "gear head" as a point of contact if I had questions on my purchase. Would definitely shop from them again.

Great store!!! Not your usual retail store, you shop online and then give the sales associates a list of what you want to see. Then other employees retrieve your items from the warehouse while you wait which is not long. Then you can try on and see different products. Their prices are good and the sales associates will work with you to make sure you get what you want and can get any discounts available. Plus while you're waiting they're knowledgeable about the area and can suggest things to do. Will definitely be going back when I need something new and am in the area!!!

Not "just" a retail store - This place is great...unlimited selection and unlimited non-commission driven, and consequently non "pushy" salespeople.  My sales associate, Jeremiah, spent a good long time imparting his knowledge to me on a winter parka.  Gave me honest advice and opinions and showed unlimited patience.  It's great being made to feel as if i had a friend in the business.  If you are anywhere close to this place - stop by.  I am a Backcountry on-line shopper and now I am a customer for life.
