Balanced Pooches, In-Home Puppy/ Dog Training

We just completed our training with John for our approx 4 year old White Shepherd / Border Collie rescue dog Darwin. Darwin was a stray from Fort Worth Texas. We don't know his history, but he has some scars on his neck and was exhibiting some behaviors that indicated he might have been in some tough situations before we adopted him. Darwin is exceptionally smart, loving and playful, but we were having trouble controlling him in certain situations. For example when delivery trucks drove past our house he would go into guarding / chasing mode barking, running through the house and crashing into things and in other situations he would be a bit on edge and unpredictable. John taught us many valuable training exercises to practice with Darwin with the main objective of teaching him that we were in control and the alphas in the family, which in turn would allow Darwin to relax and understand that we weren't going to let anything bad happen to him so he could let down his guard. We have been working on training with Darwin for almost 3 weeks and have seen a big difference already. We plan to continue to work with Darwin in order get him to behave how we want in all situations. But, John has given us all the tools, instruction and confidence to get there. He is very patient with the training process and with interruptions during the training session (such as our toddler running around the house etc.). John is really good at explaining each training exercise and the reasoning behind each exercise. He was right on time for each sessions and he writes out detailed instructions for your "homework" that should be practiced between sessions. Overall the entire process was really gratifying, interesting and fun. I think the most important lesson I learned from John is once you have the confidence to control and lead your dog, your dog will understand and feel that too and be able to relax and behave. We're looking forward to continuing to work with Darwin so we can help him become the best dog he can be. Thank you John for helping us help Darwin!

Can't say enough good things about John. He's clearly very knowledgeable; he keeps it simple, yet effective; he's flexible and willing to work with your schedule; and he comes to your home. My dog was by no means a terror, but we were new to each other, and there were definitely things we needed to work on. Remy's now happier, calmer, and all around better behaved thanks to John. This is a reasonably priced, indispensable investment. Highly recommend.

John is an excellent dog trainer. He really had a huge impact on our two dogs, Juno and Comet. He does a very good job explaining why he used certain techniques with the dogs and then clearly provides instructions on how to practice with the dogs in between and after the three sessions, We can't recommend him strongly enough.

We have two German Shorthaired Pointers. The 9 month old Piper is very sweet but reluctant to listen. After just one visit and instructions for training she became the model of obedience. And with that an even sweeter and happier dog. 3 visits later she has evolved into an amazing part of our family. She listens and just wants to please and give love now. Beyond pleased with the training. You notice from the onset the love he has for dogs. Well worth the price and beyond. I recommend his service to anyone.
