I’ve been here for 4 years with the health plan for my 2 dogs. It was a great experience, but recently I don’t see either the doctor or nurse want to help when my dogs having problems for emergency. They ask me to have an appointment for emergency problem? This is make no sense to me. I paid for the health plan for both of my dogs every month here. And when my dog have emergency I have to take them somewhere else? It’s ridiculous!!!
Dr Alexander and Tech Brittny are amazing. Won't go anywhere else. Thank you for loving animals!!
My dog has been taking phenobarbital for 2 years now. This is seizure medication. I called the Banfield location on Academy on Tuesday to ask them to write another prescription for my dog, as he was out of refills. Standard procedure. I was told by the person I was talking to that they would let Dr England know and that the prescription would be written and sent to the Walgreens we use. The next day rolls around, I call the Walgreens the prescription was supposed to be sent to, and they tell me no prescription has been sent. Mind you, this is SEIZURE medication. It must be taken everyday and is incredibly important. I call the Academy Banfield location back, and ask them why my dogs prescription wa n’t written and sent to Walgreens like I was told it would be a day prior. The lady I was talking to was confused and kept putting me on hold. She finally comes back and tells me that my dog needs a blood test in order to have the prescription rewritten, something we’ve not done ONCE since he was out on the phenobarbital. We were never called nor notified that this was even a thing. When I questioned them about telling me they’d write the prescription and then no prescription was actually written, I was told “things were a little hectic and the doctor must not have gotten around to it.” Really? Might not have gotten around to it? Again, this is SEIZURE MEDICATION that must be taken daily and if it’s not, the dog could relapse. We were then told that they couldn’t get in to see us for this “mandatory blood test” until the next day… so now, we’ve been given the run around for 48 hours for a prescription that’s absolutely ESSENTIAL to my dogs health. We show up to the blood test appointment, weren’t given any clear answers as to why we weren’t notified that this was a requirement, we weren’t told why they told us our prescription would be sent and refilled on Tuesday, yet when I called the next day to the Walgreens, a prescription had never even been sent. We were then told that the blood test would be $104 dollars and that we couldn’t get our dogs prescription refilled until the blood test was done… they essentially held my dogs incredibly important medication hostage, over a blood test that we have never done in the 2 years he’s been on medication, and we were never notified once that this was even a requirement. Of course, since we were being held hostage, we had to get the blood test done. FINALLY, after $103 dollars plus tax later, we had the prescription. We were told by the vet that we could go to any pharmacy to have prescription filled…. Any…. Pharmacy. We go to the Walgreens nearest our home, drop the prescription off, only to get a phone call 3 hours later that the Walgreens we dropped the prescription off at did not have 1 pill of the prescription that we needed… We then had to go pick the prescription up, call around, and find a Walgreens that actually had the prescription, even though we were told by the vet at Banfield on Academy that all pharmacy’s in town carried what we needed. Long story short, don’t go here. Find a vet who actually cares about the well being of you and your four legged friend. Banfield is full of incompetent workers, vets who you’ll rarely see, and care that’s bottom tier. TAKE HEED PLEASE!
I have been bringing my pets here for a very long time. All 7 of them, and normally these guys are great, but I called them on Friday for an emergency visit and they couldn't see me until today, Wednesday 5 days later. I then went in for what I thought was a 9am appointment, but it was actually a drop off and now my dog has been there in a cage for over 8 hours and still hasn't seen the vet. If my dog is going to sit in a cage with no water, food, or potty break for 8 hours why the "f" did I drop her off? They should have scheduled the appointment for late afternoon instead of keeping her in a cold cage. And now it is almost 5pm and still no call to pick her up. I am not happy about this.
Most of the time they are friendly but sometimes they are in a rush. But the Dr's and staff seem to care about the health and well being of your pets. Just wish they'd offer more appointments where you can wait for your dog. The whole dropping them off and coming back 4 hours later isn't good for me or my pups. I understand not being able to go back and speak face to face with the Dr but I don't see why I can't wait while my pups are being seen.
Friendly and fun staff. My dog absolutely loves going to the vet
Great place for your pets..they take great care of my dog..Doctors are great, vet techs very explanatory as well as front desk
Everyone who works here is super nice but the prices of their services are significantly higher than locally owned vet clinics. It's a good place to go for an emergency when you can't get into your usual place. However, the wellness plans and prices aren't worth going regularly.
Such a great clinic very clean and sanitized. Waiting times are quick the vet and the staff/tech are very caring and want you to get the best price on medication. Helped treat my dog for kennel cough for under $100! 12/10 definitely would recommend and will be coming back
