Great haircut by Anastasia- she gave me exactly the cut I was looking for and styled it so well.

I went to Bang in Chinatown forever and always loved my cut and color. Unfortunately my stylist became a little too familiar and extremely unprofessional. I went to a few other stylist who were insanely expsive and not worth it.

Loved Bang Salon! I went for the first time yesterday -- I was looking for a last minute place to get my hair trimmed that was close to my apartment and luckily they had an opening that day. They definitely have the salon operating like a well-oiled machine. One person washed my hair while the hairdresser was finishing a color for another customer. My hairdresser, Leanne, was super nice and did a great job! I'm in the process of growing out my hair, so I was just there for a trim, but the end result was great. The environment of the salon was vibrant and energetic and the staff was super friendly. Will definitely go back!

I have gone to the location at Logan Circle to Khatyana and she is truly excellent. I was having a hard time making an appointment at a time I could get to, so I decided to try to Gallery Place location and a new stylist just for once. I chose one who was listed as level 4A on the website. I was very explicit in my directions to her. I wanted absolutely no layers. I wanted all one length around my head. And some angled hair just to frame my face on one side in the front. I have been getting the same haircut for almost 10 years. I’ve been to multiple hairdressers, and they always get it. She verbally acknowledged what I said, and then got to work. When she did an initial pass on my left side, she showed me the Lankes and I agreed. But this was when she had only cut one small strand of hair. She continued, used a method I had never seen before, and I had some reservations, but I didn’t feel I had the expertise to question her. It’s also very hard to tell what’s happening when your hair is wet and the hairdresser is just snipping things here and there. I have so rarely had a bad haircut, that I generally trust how things will turn out. When it was done, before it was blowdried, I certainly thought it looked scraggly and uneven On one side, and I couldn’t really see how she had angled things around my face as requested., and I was concerned that she had created some pretty drastic layers on one side, but it was hard to tell. She asked me how I usually style my hair, and I said blow dry with a round brush under. She suggested we style it with waves and a curling wand. I didn’t really want to do that, but she was pushing it. So I said fine. I really didn’t like how it came out, but I was polite and thanked her, and I just left. Because of how it was styled, however, I could not tell the extent to which she had truly butchered my hair. When I got home I could see very clearly that she had created the most poorly done and dramatic layers on one side of my head. They did not blend in. I had hair at the front of my face that was 3 inches longer than hair halfway back my head. On the one side of my head there were two visible tiers of hair, the bottom layer being three or four inches below the top layer. The layers were not even blended. It looked horrible and random. Almost like I had a mullet. I have very thin hair, and I was explicit in telling her that this was the reason why I didn’t do layers, because it made my hair look thin and scraggly. She had not angled the hair around my face but instead about halfway back on my head had created a random patch of hair that was three or 4 inches shorter than the hair underneath. Objectively speaking, it is highly visible and multiple people have agreed that it looks bizarre. Beyond the fact that it looks bad, I am just so angry that she violated the trust that I put in her. I could not have been more explicit about saying I specifically did not want layers. I don’t even know if you can call these layers so much as just a random butchering of someone’s hair. Unfortunately, the lengths are so short, that I cannot even cut them to make them the same. It will literally take months, the better part of six months even, for my hair to grow back to the normal length or when I will be able to remove the layers. I don’t mean to sound vain, but when someone already has thin hair and you mess it up so badly, you have really messed up somebody’s sense of how they feel every day. I don’t know whether the stylist was trying to spite me because I was about 10 minutes late to the appointment. I don’t know whether she thought she knew better than me. Or whether she just was unskilled and negligent in how she cut my hair. But the result is terrible, and a direct violation of what I said not to do. I’m incredibly disappointed, and as a result, will never go back to any location of the salon again. Let this be a caution to all of you. Only go to stylists that you know and trust. The salon name means nothing.

When I booked I literally felt they were doing me a favour. Needed to give a credit card to book... don't take tips on a card... If you are later than 10 mins after don't come. All valid instructions but I didn't like the tone. Then I arrived next morning, 9am appointment for a wash and blowout. I was taken to the back for a shampoo.. no junior in yet so the stylist had to shampoo. She wasn't happy. There was a large pile of towels dumped in the middle of this area and a socket pulled out of the wall. After this I was hoping for a good blowout and maybe even a coffee or water.. no, not to be. In fact this was such a stressful and bad experience that I didn't leave the 15 dollars cash I had taken to tip.
