I don't often leave a review, but I felt this was important in case it can help someone else in a similar circumstance. As a single mother I am often leary of mechanics for fear of getting taken advantage of. I left my car for the first time to get an inspection at Bay Diagnostics. True to what the owner said I got a call within 1.5 hrs to pick up my car. Not only did they do a speedy, professional, inspection without trying to con me into unnecessary repairs, the gentleman who worked on my car offered to change my registration sticker as well. I know this doesn't seem like a big deal but for a woman who is often fending for herself and her children it's the little acts of kindness that make a big difference. I almost wish I didn't have an American car so that if and when I do need any repairs I can return at any time. However, I know that if they can help me they will and they will do it with honesty and kindness- two attributes that are rare and difficult to come by these days. Thank you for taking good care of my Jeep and this single mama! Much success to your business always
Bay diagnostics Jordan was the most pleasant experience I have ever had at any car shop. I only went for a wheel alignment but service was amazing and price was fair. This was also the cleanest and most well kept auto shop I have seen. Goes to show that Jordan truly cares about the work environment for himself and his employees. Not only is the day of service good. Jordan would follow up to make sure everything is working properly and make sure he did his job. They are definitely awesome in my book. My first experience here was after BMW. Brooklyn refused to take another look at the repairs that were done by BMW on my car. As this was an electrical problem on a 20 year old car, I was super nervous about getting into a goat rodeo trying to diagnose it. The owner, Jordan, call explain to me that one of the benefits that they have over other shops is that he has dedicated technicians that do nothing but track down shorts and gremlins. Had back to me within two days, no surprises with respect to their initial estimate. Some of the reviews have noted that Jordan may come off as arrogant. I can definitely see that, but I would argue that it’s confidence. They really are that good.
I found this business in the days when I needed to make a decision on whether or not I can make a week-long travel on my new car. The problem was a Check Engine light going on unexpectedly I know nobody ever expect it to come on, but it's a brand new car with 50 miles on it I needed to make sure everything is ok and I needed this to be done fast. One would think about a dealer. I did too, however, the dealer had a month back-up in their scheduling, so they just apologized. The "Bay Diagnostics" was my solution. I'm very happy I found them, made a call, discussed the situation with Jordan. Next day I brought the car into the shop on Gravesend Neck Rd. It was accepted immediately. The mechanic ran a full computer diagnostics of the engine and its error messages which caused the Check Engine light. He was very knowledgeable and explained what the issue was. It was some minor exhaust valve adjustment issue, but for me it was a great relief as I was free to go on to that road trip I planned for so long. Great service! Long time supporter of Bay, as my family has had 3 cars serviced with them. Today's review is a bit of a downer. I recently had service done on my e90 which ended up coasting just under 6k. Not one to complain about prices as i appreciate quality work and things being done right the first time. As a few days passed i started to notice a burning smell. To my surprise, i noticed the power distribution box had began to melt. I took the car back to Bay as i had feared an electrical fire etc. I was told i would have to pay $400 to have it replaced. As i stated prior, i love Bay and normally mention is to those looking for a new shop. However, today I feel taken advantage of. Why is it that I had to come out of pocket for a repair that was not under my control. My battery had been changed by Bay so there for i feel they should have taken responsibility for this repair. In the past year i have almost spent 10k on repairs. Never complained or made anything an issue. But again as a loyal customer I don't see how this made sense. All in all not sure i'll be back. Following up on the response. The other codes had nothing to due with the melting of the power distribution cap. Also you guys said you would not touch the "aftermarket wire" however, i checked this morning and the wire was removed and off to the side. All in all it is what it is. But lets be honest here, i did not bring my car to the shop with that issue and somehow it fell on me. AND yes, i did tell Joe on the phone i installed the seats and yes i did explain that the lighting system light was triggered once I tried to reset the battery to clear the SRS code. I am a honest man and customer, I get no satisfaction by trying to insinuate or lie to prove a point. There are a lot of other small factors i didn't mention in this review for the purpose of not wanting to be petty.
Huge red flag when an “ honest mechanic shop” can’t give you a quote over the phone. I understand to get an accurate price a professional mechanics will have to inspect the situation physically. However the reasoning of a quote over the phone is to get an estimate price based on the claims they state on the website which quotes “ their services are not only lower than dealerships but with the same quality” . These bait and switch tactics are common with shady mechanics shops. The owner will counter my statement after reading this that “he’s been in business for 38 years” . The fact is the previous owner valued customer loyalty this owner is just a scammer. If anyone think I’m being biased and to prove my point, contact Emil’s tire shop which is literally their competitor next to themat least their service is honest and will give you an quote over the phone.

The place is clean and guaranteed that you will be satisfied how they take care of your vehicle. Very Professional and Expert Knowledge. Totally exceeded all expectations. I brought in my Mercedes Benz GL due to a bad coolant leak. They told me that the turbo coolant tubes at lower front engine needed to replaced within minutes. Amazing diagnostic! Thank you Jordan and your entire team. So… I did not trust my dealership to service my Mini, pretty much my dealership wasted my time rather than being honest. I was unsure of going to Bay Diagnostics at first but, I brought my Mini Clubman in for an oil change and ask to take a look at noise in the front end whilst driving. They found the problem in a short time. I was told a couple of hours for repairs and/or depending when the parts arrive. Sure enough it was done, I’m not here to cheer what they have done to my Mini. I’m here because I felt very SURE of the business, The staff alone is wonderful, professional and straight forward. This place will be my go to when my Mini needs service!Service: General repairs & maintenance
