Oh dear, and it was all going so well. My VW Passat reached an unwelcome milestone of being over 100,000km with Leaseplan, so instead of going to a VW garage they parcel the service to a select group of garages that include Treacy's. Well, I come from Crumlin so even though it's out of my way I gave the service to them. Just to be nice, I also arranged to get two new tyres done to allow them to make some extra margins. Because I like building up relations with people. Everything went entirely to my satisfaction and I'd be happy to give them my continued business and 5 stars. One thing though, there was a odd smell in the car on the way back, but I put it down to the service. It was only when I got to the airport the next day that I discovered what the issue was. The two used tyres were just left on the boot, just in time to stink out the entire car for the four days the car was at the airport. When you spend €350 extra to be nice, on some high quality tyres and your reward is a stinky car and the bill to dump the tyres that's when you get one star and no further business. Yes, I am fully aware that the law has changed on tyre recycling and there is an extra cost, but I expect that to be part of the price. ************************** Update. Was contacted today by the owners to apologise for the incident and an explanation as to the circumstances. Turns out they had to use another third party for the tyres and of course, the tyres should never have been left in the car. So I bumping this up to three stars on the basis of the phone call but no more based on the incident itself and also that it took them a couple of months before they responded to the review.

Booked a week ago and said I needed front shocks doing, got a call the day before which I missed saying they’d take 3 days to get in, cost €330 each and therefore couldn’t be done when requested. Given they’d enough time from booking to get the parts in this wasn’t great. I’ve now found another garage that can get the parts in stock next day for €190 each for Genuine VW parts. Frustrating as I’d explained it had to be done on that day as the vehicle was due a retest on its cvrt the next day.

Very helpfull staff. Some good second hand cars here at reasonable prices. Seems like a small owned family business that would do that bit extra to uphold their reputation. Yes we will deal again with them in the future.

This review is in relation to charges not their mechanical expertise. The last service seemed a little on the high side considering we had new brakes fitted only ten days previous at the same garage. Not the first questionable item on bills from them. Probably will be the last however.

The best car mechanics in Dublin. They are the only people I would trust with my car! Have been using them for over 12 years now, and never had a problem. They do great work offering good value. Being members of SIMI it is also a great comfort to know that when your car is serviced here, it is done properly.

I have been using Treacy's Autos for a number of years and have always been very happy with their service. They are a local, family run business and they really know their stuff. I drive for a living and they are always happy to help me out at short notice which is a huge bonus for me as it means I don't lose out on work. I've sent many people their way over the years and have always been thanked for recommending such professional mechanics that don't overcharge like so many others!

My first time to use this garage, and I'd highly recommend it. Lovely bunch of lads to deal with. Left my car in for a service, there were no hidden extra cost and most importantly it was ready for the agreed time. Will certainly be back.

Website advertised €129 for a service, but when I went to collect the car the invoice was €270. They hadn't rang me to let me know they were doing anything extra so this was a shock. They agreed to knock €30 off but it was still almost double what their website says - felt ripped off and wont be returning.
