Great, great place. A bit confusing to find but once you're in, it's all good. The food is DELICIOUS. I've been to NOLA several times and Bayou Bar has the flavor down. Drinks are good, band was good but a bit hard to hear depending on where you're standing. I have to shout out Harvey, who took care of our 20+ person party. He was attentive, calm and professional the entire evening. He was proactive about communicating with our party in regards to food and drink by making sure we knew when and how the food was coming out. Managed to get everyone their food in a timely and organized fashion. Also made sure we all had drinks. Harvey and a lovely lady with tattoos made sure our tables were cleared constantly so we never had a build up of glasses and plates. I was genuinely impressed that we always had what we needed and Harvey never looked flustered/annoyed/inconvenienced for a second. Wonderful, wonderful service. Thanks Harvey and lovely tattoo lady whose name I didn't get but gave me a tattoo artist recommendation!
We visited Bayou on Saturday evening. It is located just inside Broadway market. What a brilliant night it turned out to be. The musician, Ben, performed a real variety of tunes to suit all age groups. Nearly everyone in the bar, and passers-by, were dancing and singing along. There was table service early evening and food available until 9pm. Lovely attentive staff. Looking forward to visiting again!
Took the kids here. Super efficient service. We ate around 6pm before the Saturday crowds and mayhem descended. They had the BBQ chicken wings and Cajun / Cheese Fries and were suitably impressed. Juicy well cooked chicken wings and skinny fries. I had the Cajun / Black Shrimp basket with fries - super spicy. Great Value for Money. Would have had 5 stars if the table and the menus had been less sticky.
Normally I'd be more enthusiastic about this place as its got great vibe decent food and drinks but whomever made my cocktail that night needs stringing up I'm 98% sure I had no rum in my drink I had the El bayou and it was just sour lime juice no sweetness or rum after three sips I felt sick and went home kinda a ruined my weekend. In saying that I'd normally be happy to drink here but just one bad night can ruin an experience and destroy good memories.
Buzzing place with such a great atmosphere, the staff are lovely and the food is really nice and the strawberry daiquiris and margaritas are so good. Really recommend if you want a fun atmosphere and great food and cocktails.
Great place. We found it recently and liked it so much we came back a couple of days in a row. Food and drinks are excellent. Great staff, the manager came over said hello and put a bit extra booze in our drinks. Great experience, we'll be back!
Visited here on Saturday and had an awful experience. The food is ok, although I agree with a previous review that the alcohol is watered down. When I went to pay the rude girl behind the bar made me tap/insert my pin a number of times. Even though the first payment said approved she was adamant it hadn’t gone through. Checked my accounts the next day and the payment had been taken twice. Ended up paying £92 instead of £46. I’ve been here once before and had a dodgy experience with the card reader/staff. Contacted for a refund, but they’ve just ignored me. *Please check your account when you pay in here!
Delicious food! We had tried the van which is currently Norwood and is some of the best street food we’ve had in London. The blackened Po Boy was looked perfectly and so well seasoned. The chicken basket was delicious. The gator fries were amazing - the gravy was out of this world. Overall can’t wait to try more of the menu and would highly recommend.
Frozen cocktails on tap. Big naughty po boys on the grill. What's not to like. Bayou bar does gratuitous New Orleans food which doesn't pull any punches. In normal times they have live music too. Great place for pigging out with your pals and sinking a few pints of grog.
Drinks were good until a booking turned up 10 minutes early and we got harassed several times by 2 different waiters to leave within the space of 3 minutes of paying our bill. Way to treat a paying customer!???
