For a location that closed for months to redesign the store, I'd call it a massive FAIL. Many of the displays were non-functional, missing any pricing information, or simply filled with supplies. Moving equipment in the aisles and a feel that the store is not ready to be open at all. Even displays for some of their most expensive audio gear didn't work well and had no pricing information. This review is specific to this location at the time of my visit.
Do not get curbside pickup at this location. All of the spots were filled so I parked in line outside of the store. An associate came out to every car and directed us to additional spots on the other side. No problem, I go to a spot and check in again with my spot number. In the meantime all of the customers are getting sick of waiting and going into the store to retrieve their CURBSIDE pickup. They make those customers leave the store and go back outside to the pickup door. Then I see multiple cars pull up and they start getting their orders but I still don't get mine. I see my order in the window, all the associates are looking at my car. They continue to bring out other orders. Common sense, if you see a car in a curbside spot you'd ask what they're waiting on while you're outside, just like the first associate did to clear the line in front of the store. I pull out of my spot and now go directly to the door. The associate asks how they can help, though he passed my car 3 times. I ask for the order right in the window and ask why it was ignored. He claims I checked in without a spot number and they didn't see any cars that fit my description........ No just say they would rather be rude and watch me watch them because they would rather be rude and passive aggressive. But if I say something I'm aggressive. I do not appreciate the bogus treatment and I told him about their BS behavior. Shop there but don't use that passive aggressive service. 0 stars if I could.
Best buy used to be really good. We have shopped there for many years. The knowledgeable staff seems to have dwindled down to 1-2 employees in each store the last few years. It started way before the pandemic. This last visit we were finally asked if we needed help, and when I asked which refrigerators were counter depth, the employee said “you’ll have to look online”. We will find an independent dealer when the time comes, which will be soon.
I went into the store to get my son's computer fixed and Went over to the Geek Squad. Not one person could look up and say I will be right with you. We waited over 15 minutes without anyone approaching us and just ignoring us as if we were not standing there, I have lived in the area and used this store for over 15 years. I have steadily watched the Customer service decline at this particular location. They are Cold and Matter-of-fact only which is beyond off putting to a Customer. I have bought numerous Computers, appliances and Televisions from this store over the years. I stopped an employee passing by and asked them if they worked in the Geek Squad Dept and they said they didn't but that they were a Manager. He barely wanted to help me get assistance, He went into the back and finally asked another employee working in the back to come out and assist. That employee quickly found a way to DISMISS us and state he couldn't help me because our Computer was not under warranty and they do not work with Cash on Delivery people. I am a BEST BUY Customer with a credit account with them How DARE you treat us as if we cannot pay for a repair that we ask for. The only thing I could see is a difference in skin Color which clearly mattered tonight, I will NEVER spend another dollar with this store EVER again. I have ZERO balance on my Best BUy card and I will keep it that way!
The reason for 2 stars is because I ordered a refurbished Oculus Quest 2 before the price changed by $100. I got the headset and was guaranteed "better than new" working condition. Out of the box it would not work, I tried A to Z of things to fix it but no luck. I returned it and it was easy and fast besides the store being completely under renovation. I didn't get an option for replacement of my broken one and was forced to pay $400 instead of my original $250 which I would not do. This hasn't been the first bad experience with Best Buy and if I had to give advice for where to go for tech, go to Micro Center, they won't screw you over. Good staff, bad company management. I understand the price change wasn't on them but if they offered a replacement unit instead of having to pay $150 more this review would have been better.
I had the worst experience buying the computer, but that's not the most important thing. BUYERS YOU NEED TO BEWARE, your information may have been exposed! NEXT and MOST IMPORTANT, if you return an electronic device make sure to delete all your personal information and reset the device back to factory settings. This store more than likely will not do it for you. I bought an open box computer that was supposed to be in excellent condition; meaning it had been Geek Squad inspected and certified. Well, when I started up the computer; it was obvious something was wrong with it, because a message came up that it had not been shut down properly. The computer asked me if I want to reload the last page. Curious to find out what went wrong; I pressed reload the last page. To my surprise all of the previous customer's personal information was popped up on the computer. I immediately turned it off and attempted to return it to this store where I bought it. The people at this store is so rude, when I drove over two hours to return the computer and tried to explain what was wrong. They rudely refuse to assist me stating I needed an appointment and the earliest appointment for that store was over 3 weeks out. Their concern was not the customer's information that was left on the computer they sold to me, it was the fact I again came to the store without an appointment. First of all, they sold me an open box computer without inspecting it; even though the inspection tape was on it. Next they didn't try to fix the issue and sent me away with a computer that contained another customer information. Also since it wasn't inspected, how can they certify the condition of the computer. Only when I called 1-800-BESTBUY and explained what happened did I get a response. I was told to bring the computer to another Best Buy store; think about it, now someone else gets to see the customer's personal information. I didn't post pictures of the actual computer because I didn't want to expose the customer's information, but it's easy to prove. If you were a customer at this Best Buy: your initials are C & C, you bought and returned a white Omen gaming computer at this Best Buy location in 2022. You might want to call them, because they are not going to call you and tell you your information was exposed.
Has a lot of good things. However, a lot of things are not in the store. It is a good idea to check online for what is in store before you buy; some thing you will have to order online. For example, both times I have been to this Best Buy to purchase items, I have had to purchase what I wanted online because the items were not available to purchase in store. This includes a laptop that was on display; the price tag is still showing to this day.
Just terrible went over to this location when they opened at 10:00 obviously they were not busy. Stood in TV section for 20 minutes couldn't get anyone to help me, needless to say couldn't find anyone standing around even help me. Then I went to mobile Electronics to get another item, couldn't get anyone to help nor could I locate anyone standing around. Then I go up front to ask the greater to get me a manager to help, he then ask the person behind me could he help them so needless to say I walked out went to Walmart about $1,000 TV, and then I ordered online the mobile Android auto I wanted from another competitor. Best buy, seriously what a shame.
I ordered the Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro refurb from Best Buy online during a sale. I got them last week, and they were missing both the medium and small ear tips. After having a chat online with some support reps, I was directed to go in store because they said they would have some ear tips. I doubted that was the case, but I went in anyways and was told they did not have any tips. Normal stuff, no big deal; it just means that I have to return the device. However, that is not the reason I am rating this store one out of five stars. The support representative I talked to was not only annoyed that I even came into the store in spite of the interaction being maybe 60 seconds long, he also told me that maybe next time I shouldn't buy a refurbished device and instead should buy a new one. Never in my life have I had a worse interaction with someone who is essentially degrading me for not having enough money to buy the full price headphones. I guess from now on I'll be visiting the Smyrna location.
Decent selection of products. Helpful staff. Only negative was I wanted an Android device and felt the employee was Apple biased. He could tell me everything about Apple but kind of was put off when I said I preferred Android devices. Then couldn't really answer my questions about Android devices.
