This place never fails! I’ve tried the Mamma Grande, the chipotle ranch burrito, and more recently their new item, suggested by the employees, the breakfast melt! It was amazing. Their hot salsa is always on point! Not too hot but really full of flavor.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: YesDelivery: YesCurbside pickup: Yes
The green shirt was his burrito..bacon and steak I think. With tots...I got the Philly it come with tots and a chipotle ranch. It wasn't spicy either. it was great! Will go back I recommend it to the next person. They are huge, and it was decently priced I think too.
My wife and I are OU alums that have loved Big Mamma's since we first tried it nearly 14 years ago. The court street location was a typical stop on the way home many Saturday nights as we both loved their burritos and especially the sombrero sauce. I was always happy to wait in line for twenty or more minutes for their amazing food. Everything always tasted the same every single time we went. We were so excited when we heard about this location opening up in Columbus. We did notice slight differences from the Athens location the very first time we tried it, like the chips coming in smaller bags and the burritos being smaller, but at least the food tasted nearly as good as we remembered, so we ignored it. Due to Covid and our proximity to this location, it's been over two years since we've had it. I don't know what has happened in that time, but wow has the food gone downhill. My Chipotle ranch burrito was even smaller than the last few times. It was probably 80% rice and with only the smallest hint of ranch flavor. It actually tasted sweet. I actually asked my wife if there was any chance this was from a different big mamma's. I had to douse it in hot sauce to finish it. But the worst of all was the sombrero sauce. It was completely different and nothing like the original. It's as if they forgot to add half the ingredients. The cheese was still solid and unmelted. Not creamy or even mixed at all. Much smaller portion, well under half what we used to get. I always got the impression that this location had little to no affiliation with the original in Athens, but all of my doubt it now removed. I can say with 100% certainty that I will never eat at this location again. I'd rather drive to Athens to ensure I get the real thing. Note to the owner, please for the love of all things that are good in the world change everything back to how they used to be. From reading over a hundred or so reviews from the last two years it's clear that something has changed and the owner is refusing to address or even acknowledge it. This place is an embarrassment to the Big Mamma's name.
My first time eating here, will be my last. Should've trusted my gut and got HotHeads instead. Saw this place on UberEats and figured I would give it a try, I'm fat so naturally, I liked the idea of tots on a burrito bowl, but EVERYTHING in my bowl was burnt, tots pictured looked like lumps of coal, the rice was burnt and so crunchy, chicken was so dry, black beans were so mushy, just everything went wrong with my order.
After being a huge fan of Big Mamma’s in Athens, this is an actual embarrassment. I tried it here a few years ago and remember it being much better. The size of the burrito for $14 feels like robbery. Oh and the guac… absolute worst I’ve ever had in my entire life. Glancing at the other reviews, I can see that I’m not alone. Do yourself a favor and go to Condado or honestly anywhere else. Other than that, it’s great.
Amazing customer service and delicious food! The owner who took our order told us that any menu item could be vegetarian by subbing beans for the meat. I recommend the verde salsa with your burrito!
This was my last time, food cold and for $9 the burrito was small....way smaller than chipotle and for $6 the baby burrito was the size of a big egg roll. Too many better options for the money. All around not good
Service was great and fast but FIY the 'salads' are only whatever toppings and protein you pick. No lettuce or base or anything. Ended up with a bowl of just beans, salsa, jalapenos, and guac..... Almost $10, so keep that in mind when eating here
Great experience here completing the "mega mamma" burrito challenge. Staff was very friendly and excited to watch me take on this challenge, and I will say the food was surprisingly good for such a large quantity 5+ pounds. Definitely would like to go back and try more of what they have on the menu!
Absolutely disappointing, especially for the cost. I’m not sure if Big Mammas is under new ownership or what- but we live downtown and for a few years Big Mammas had a kitchen, operating out of the Daily Growler on High St. We ordered burritos chips, salsa, guac, etc for dinner there weekly and were never disappointed. We recently did a delivery order, refer to photo my Chili burrito was 95% rice, 5% meat, you may have to zoom in to see, my husbands burrito, rice to meat proportion was similar, low. Also, the tortilla chips were in a bag- I remember them being fresh in the past. I should’ve taken heed to the other reviews, but I was HOPING we would get lucky with the good ol burritos we knew + loved.. not so much.
