Bloomfield Institute of Therapy

This is going to be quite an in depth review of everything. I am writing this to save people who need real physical therapy and actually want to get better. This is no way embellished and do not mean anything negative towards the therapists themselves. This is the most horrible physical therapy places I've ever been to and it should be shut down immediately. I'm going to physical therapy due to a serious spinal fusion, which I asked before my first appointment if they have experience with that because it needs to be addressed appropriately. My evaluation was garbage and not nearly thorough. Every appointment I had, there was a 20-45 minute wait to be seen. Worse than a doctor's office. Not only a long wait, but you aren't getting therapy to help. First appointment, I was asked if I've ever been on a treadmill. Then without direction on time or speed, I was left and told to "get on the treadmill for a while". Really? I was also told, "we aren't here to make you do anything you don't want to do. If you don't want to do something, don't." GREAT PT mentality. Next, I only dealt with an aide, never an actual PT. I was given a list of exercises that I immediately brought to my surgeon and was told o absolutely not do those because it will cause major damage to my fusion. If I didn't have knowledge of fitness and injuries, I would be in serious trouble. I had to call and talk to the owner and argue for stretching and massage as indicted on my script. That lasted 3 appointments. They use a handheld Tens unit for electric stim and reuse the pads for everyone unlike the sanitary and common practice of having a file with your personal pads for your appointment. It's a shake and bake place and gets you in and out and overbooks every appointment. Another thing is the constant talking about and gossip about other patients. Do what you will, but for the sake of your injury and getting better, please be advised to do your research and go anywhere else. I gave this place copious opportunities to make things better, but after no avail, a review must be written.

I would just like to take a moment to commend the Bloomfield Institute of Therapy for their excellent treatment and all around great atmosphere. When I was given a referral for Physical Therapy my doctor recommended BIPOT so I gave them a call and spoke with the office manager Cheryl. Cheryl was very helpful in taking the time to understand what type of treatment I needed and how we would go about getting treatment scheduled. Once my appointment was set (I was taken the very next day) I was asked if I was familiar with the area (which I am not)and was given clear directions! When I walked into the office I could see from all of the other patients that this location really puts effort into getting their patients back on the right track! Thank you so much for everything BIPOT!!!

I completely agree with the first reviewer. I went in for the evaluation and was immediately turned off. First they overcharged me then then I was chastised for getting injured in the first place.
