Boise Black Bear Diner

Great diner! I went in on Mother's Day 2018 - their busiest holiday of the year. They did a great job of managing the high demand of people on a very special day for many that morning. The food was excellent, the coffee and water were always topped off, and the service was very friendly and thoughtful. I went in for breakfast, but they have a very large menu of lunch and dinner options as well. The place is decorated in the theme of the outdoors - building on the idea of 'Black Bear' habitats. I'd definitely recommend going if you haven't yet!

I've eaten here several times before today, but today was an excellent visit. We were seated quickly and our server Christopher was attentive and friendly and there every minute we needed him. The food was the perfect temperature when it arrived and was absolutely delicious. This visit was over the top good. Thank you.

My girlfriend and I came to Black Bear today for a date that is a rare occurrence since we work and never have time off together but it was sadly ruined by our horrible experience. We often go to the Black Bear Diner in Garden city and it's always been amazing but today we were closer to this location and it had even better reviews but I don't know why because we didn't have a 4.2 star experience. The first issue was our waitress she wasn't necessarily rude but she was a bit stand offish and not very sociable. Other issues and definitely the biggest was the wait time for our food and the quality. We waited 45 minutes to get our food. My girlfriend got a burger and fries which was decent but I ordered the Bigfoot chicken fried stake with fruit, eggs, English muffin, and a side of sausage. The chicken fried steak was supposed to be the large one but it was half the size of the one they make at the other Black Bear on top of that everything was cold and I don't mean like warm I'm mean ice cold also my eggs which were supposed to be over easy were way over cooked. The entire meal was a waste because I couldn't even eat most of it. Even after talking to the waitress we were only given a 10% discount which was a total of $3 off. Very disappointed and won't return.

Christopher was our server and he was pretty funny. The food was good and the recommendations were right on. It wasn't super busy at lunch time, but that could be due to the holiday weekend. Fry sauce was a bonus, and the blackberry jam was awesome as well.

Seated quickly and politely. Orders taken when we were ready with no pressure. Drinks were constantly refreshed. Received our food at the correct temperature and with great timing. We spoke for quite a long time afterwards and the excellent service continued. Thanks to Christopher and the staff at Black Bear Dinner.
