Boondock Saint

We went on Halloween night for a few quiet drinks. It started off nice and Michelle the bartender seemed cool at first. There were three of us and I was buying drinks for the group. I bought two drinks for my friend and one for myself and the third friend was our designated driver. The DD was drinking water and got up to use the bathroom when Michelle the bartender physically blocked her from entering the bathroom and told her it was for customers only. I’ve been a bartender and server for 15 years. I could not imagine caring that much to not let someone use the bathroom. I understand not letting someone wander in off the street but we were patrons. Also, to clarify, I tipped her $16 on a $16 tab and my friend was planning on tipping for her water as well.

After eight years this still holds the title of my go-to bar in New Orleans. Everyone is welcome and each and every one of the bartenders is wonderful. They make you laugh, feel at home and get all the clientele to engage with each other!

One of my favorite bars in NOLA. Has a loop of the movie playing. Good drinks. Bathroom needs updated.

Met the owner and some of her patrons, good people, great place. Also want to point out that there is an O'Brian near by...but they don't have Guinness on tap. So for a real Irish spot, go onto to Boondocks !!!

Cool dive type bar, bartender is super awesome and is the epitome of "I'm working here until my rock star career takes off".
