Brixton

I had a great time at Brixton last Friday night. This is an excellent option for a rooftop bar in DC with neat views. There was plenty of space to dance and everyone seemed to be having fun. The drinks were good and the prices were in line with what I'd expect to pay at any bar in the city. I can understand why a line had formed when we left around 1 am. I will definitely come back to Brixton soon.

The drink prices were very good. The service was decent and the people were friendly. The food was just all right. I felt like their fries were a bit hard and they looked like the fry oil needed to be changed out. Otherwise the place is a great spot to spend happy hour or catch a game.

Nice atmosphere on the second floor for a private party. First floor (main) bar didn't seem to be nearly as impressive. Good list of beers on draft and bottle.

The bouncers at Brixton will be the downfall of this bar. I was here last week for the Margarita March, there was a line to get int the bar and I was trying to ask the bouncer how long he thought it would take to get in. He rudely ignored my question and told me " i was annoying him." That's the first instance of my terrible experience. Then we order food and got our drinks, one of our friends stepped out for a minute and my other friend went to go open the door to let him back in. A bouncer came around and pushed both of them out of the door with no explanation or warning telling them they had to leave. My friend tried to explain he was just trying to get back inside but the despicable bouncer didn't give them a chance to explain. She could have easily said "you can't do that" but instead she pushed them out and threw away their drinks (which my other friend and I would have drank). I've been to plenty of bars before where if you do something stupid (especially as something as small as open a door) they give you a warning, considering drunk people don't tend to make the best decision, but this bouncer was rude. Next my friend and I were going to the bathroom, there was no line and NO BOUNCER there so we decided to go into the stall together (she was wearing a romper and needed help zipping it up from the back). When we come out the bouncer (same one that kicked out my other 2 friends) pushes us out yelling at us that women aren't allowed in the same bathroom. Not once was there a sign or anyone telling us that's prohibited and like I said before she needed help zipping up her romper therefore I had to go in there with her or else she would be coming out of the bathroom half naked. The bouncers at this place are not professional, rude, and are going to cost this bar a lot of customers. Once again, she could have given us a warning instead of just pushing us out. It's as if her sole mission was to kick out as many people as possible. Needless to say we are never coming back to this place again unless they teach their bouncers how to act.

This bar has a British themed menu (might even have drinks too, I can't remember) but the vibe of this place I cannot get a feel on. We came to this bar as all other bars were packed for the Big10 game. There looked to be a lot of people on first dates, and no one watching the game. So a great place to people watch (and bomb their tinder dates).
