Quite sometime ago I was young and had just moved to Brownburg. Long story short my new neighbors made a noise complaint (we were in apartments—they called the police at least once a week on one of the residents). The police come to my house and I tell them everything is fine, they ask if they can come in. I said no and try to close the door, they force their way in!!! They ended up arresting me and they charged me with resisting arrest. I told them they needed to remove that charge as I didn’t resist so they changed it to “maintaining a common nuisance”—I hadn’t even lived there a month at this point—and that is a felony!!! I was NOT charged with it originally, only when I told them to remove the resisting arrest charge. Now let me tell you had this entire scenario played out in Marion Co the police would have checked in, left, and possibly reprimanded the neighbor for making false complaints. But because it was Brownsburg where the police have nothing to do and are apparently corrupt and on a power trip I got screwed. This was well over 10 years ago and I have since got a degree but was recently told a place that had already hired me could not employ me once my background check came back because I was charged (never convicted—was obviously thrown out) with maintaining a common nuisance, a felony. I should sue them for unlawful entry of my residence, fabricating charges, and the toll the whole situation is still taking on my life years later.
