Budget Truck Rental

Your "reservation" doesn't in any way obligate them to reserve you a truck!! I made a reservation online well in advance. I received an email reminder about my reservation 3 days prior to pick-up. Then, I received a call from the pick-up location 2 days prior to pick-up informing me they don't have any trucks, and wouldn't have any trucks for the remainder of the month. When I pushed back I was put in touch with a regional route manager. I asked him what the purpose of a reservation with Budget was when Budget doesn't follow through on their end and reserve a truck for the customer. He answered that a "reservation" simply means a customer has reserved a rate for a particular day for use if there is actually, in fact, a truck available to rent at that location on that day. Your "reservation" doesn't actually reserve for you a truck. I've rented from Budget over 20 times over 2 decades and that's news to me. When I asked if Budget was prepared to provide a possible remedy or compensation for the failure to perform, his answer was a simple "No". Now I'm in a difficult predicament due to Budget's progressive interpretation of the word "reservation". Moral of the story is "read the fine print", don't trust lawyers, and don't trust Budget. Upsetting to say the least.
