Went here today. I bought a box of washers here a few weeks ago. No big deal. Used to be Jim's true value. Always had stock of what you need and friendly people. I needed some conduit an elbow and some other stuff. Couldn't find any pvc elbows. Asked somebody who didn't seem to want to help. No big deal. He pointed us in a general direction. Didn't have what I needed so I was going to get a bigger piece of conduit to make it work. Then I decided against it and would go to lowes. I put everything I had back from where it came and proceeded to leave. On my way out the door, a man who I presume is the owner, stopped us and said can I help you find anything? I said no well come back if we need anything. Then he looked at us and asked what was in our pockets. Claiming we had stolen something. So we emptied our pockets and he still didn't seem satisfied. So moral of the story, I spent $100 at lowes instead of Buena Vista Hardware. And I'll never go back. If they had a better selection my money would have went there with no issue. I'll never buy anything from there again. I can't give zero stars so it gets one

Fantastic small local hardware store. The on-the-shelf selection of smaller items is really good for the size of the store and the staff is friendly, helpful, and able to order almost anything you need. They also offer local delivery for larger items and orders.

Nice place to shop for the hard to find tool or the old houses need repairs
