Service was not very attentive or thoughtful. Had to ask for new silverware/napkins when the previous set was cleared. No bowls were brought out for the soup that was being shared. The food mostly made up for the lack in friendly service. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back or suggest it.
Loved this restaurant! 4.4 stars! Great bread and amazing home made butter. The chopino made me feel like I am in San Francisco. The pate is delicious, but served with anison for those sensitive. Trout bilini was the only item on the menu that did not shine. Great coffee as well!
Ambience, atmosphere, staff, delicious food, excellent offering of libations. Inside and outside dining, entrees prepared by folks who love what they do and take pride in their craft while enjoying those they work with and those who keep coming back. A step up from a lot of places in a welcome setting. Highly recommend you see for yourself what a great place this is!!
The food was great. My waitress didn't seem to happy. All she did to take my order and bring the check. I guess, she didn't care if my food was right/taste good. I had not much expectations from her [jun18].
The soup was good, the roasted banana house made ice cream on point. Server was knowledgeable, highly recommended dining here if your in the mood for seafood.
Dinner was mouth watering. The flavors were perfectly paired playing off eachother. The atmosphere was warm and intimate with great service. We had high hopes for desert since the food was amazing howeve, we were disapointed. The dessert was good but not up to the same standards as the meal, I wished the crembruele was more traditional in the consistency and the sugar crust was a little thinner. Overall I recomend this resturant for all date nights!
It was busy but our dinner was still coursed well. Oysters were fresh and flavorful. A extensive wine list was appreciated. Fish was cooked perfectly. A fun area to explore but parking be a bit confusing due to the lay out of the streets. You’ve been warned! Maybe skip the cheese board unless you want it for dessert.
Amazing seafood restaurant! We got a bunch of meals, shared it and loved all of it. The mac and cheese was delicious, but I still wish it had lobster in it! Make sure you get that bread with salted butter!!!! The drinks were really good. Our waitress was amazing and very friendly. Would recommend this to anyone craving seafood in Portland!
I’ve been a foodie for a long time and I’ve lived in Portland all my life for 54 years almost. This was the best seafood experience I’ve ever had but I think what made the whole night the best was the waitress Michelle. She was so lovely and took such good care of me and my father he was celebrating his 79th birthday. I will go back here over and over and over again and I strongly recommend you do the same.
We had a terrific meal at Cabezon. Oysters were fresh and good. The blini were cute and fun. Flavors were subtle, not the salty blast one gets with some roe. The Albacore Bruschetta special was excellent: fresh vegetables in a tangy, slightly sweet sauce over delicate fish all on a toasted slice of rustic bread. Butter lettuce salad was a great compliment, understated dressing that allowed the flavors of the lettuce, hazelnuts and cheese to lead. We shared the grilled monkfish, which was a special, served with a squash gratin, jicama and sweet peppers with a light poblano sauce. Flavors were not muddled, lots of complementary combinations of textures and tastes. The lavender lemon creme brulee was a great finish. Perfect balance of sweet and bitter, creamy and crunchy. Pricing is very reasonable for the quality. We shared the above between two of us and left full and happy.
