Another great spot to eat on Washington Avenue. Prices are reasonable, good location, and great food. My favorite was the caramel churros. They were fresh and you had a selection of caramel or chocolate. This restaurant utilizes local companies. The soda is locally made. So they do not serve name brand sodas at the dispenser. Food - 3 stars We ordered the following: Baja taco, Pescado taco, and Cameron taco. The Baja taco was not as appealing as the pescado taco. The batter took away from the flavor and taste of the fish. Now the Peacado grilled fish was delicious. It had good flavor and all tacos had chipotle sauce. The chipotle sauce added the extra flavor and the tacos were stuffed. Important to note: they make HOMEMADE CORN TORTILLAS! Baja Taco Battered Fish, Onion, Cilantro, Cabbage, Tomato, Chipotle Sauce. Pescado Taco Grilled Fish, Onion, Cilantro, Cabbage, Tomato, Avocado, Chipotle Sauce. Camaron Taco Grilled Shrimp, Grilled Mozzarella, Cabbage, Tomato, Avocado, Chipotle Sauce. Churros 3 Filled with Chocolate or Caramel. Customer service - 3 stars Price - 3 dollar signs We had four tacos, 1 order of churros and two drinks. The cost came out to around $32 Tacos $3.95 Churros $6.25 Cleanliness- 3 stars The sitting area is small but clean and presentable. Restroom - 2 stars The hand soap dispenser was not working and had graffiti on the door. The floors were sticky. Good note, the sink was nice.
We stopped here about 3 years ago on our way through Houston l. We came back through and had to try again. It was good. The burritos were huge but mostly beans and rice. The fish taco was to die for!
Awesome tacos and burritos. I like the sauces section where you can try them all. All of the sauces are very well prepare and has its own flavor. The bowl will fill you up really quick. Good packing spot in the back. Old building with some very unique design.
The tacos are reasonably priced for the large amounts of filling. The corn tortillas are classic, medium thick, fresh-made and those shelf-stable chewy ones other taquerias push off. They have really great quesadillas and with a few choices of meat additions. The Mexican Street Corn I ordered came in a cup, which was pretty fantastic...but, if they could have roasted ear-corn on the ready...this place probably would have a line down Washington Avenue. Overall, if you want classic taco truck favorites, but don't want to wait in line outside and other restaurants are too full or closing their kitchens for the night, stop on by and you'll probably make this your regular go-to taco bar!
The service was great The tacos were good. I had the Caribbean shrimp and the baja. Tasted fresh and great flavors. The fries were good didn't need the steak but other than that it was good
Customer service is nice but the food was not. I saw all the great reviews about this spot but when I checked it out I noticed the atmosphere is catered the surrounding environment. The food looks delicious but lacks flavor and originality. The burrito taste like bland Chipotle, tacos de Carne asada taste like Taco cabana tacos and the elote is like water down can corn with no taste. So if you want overpriced bland fast food this is a spot to check out. Won't be coming back here anymore.
Don’t listen to the negative reviews, this place has authentic California style Mexican food. As someone who grew up in California I would know. The California burrito is full of flavor and good quality meat. The salsa bar is excellent, especially their habanero salsas! Friendly service and even better food. This place puts Tex-Mex to shame.
This place really surprised me. Better than Berry Hill! Had their Baja Tacobattered fish and the Camarón tacogrilled shrimp both on corn tortilla. Tortillas were hand made and delicious. Also very good in size, the shrimp taco was a little smaller but was the most tasty. Fresh and savory cabbage, avocado and pineapple. Only critique is their tortilla chips are not very good - inconsistent chips and too greasy at times. Also the deco and furniture doesn’t really go together, pretty eclectic. Big plus - the habanero salsa was on point! Perfect balance of heat and flavor. Looking forward to my next visit!
The carne asada tacos are delicious!! Definitely coming here again. The second pic includes shrimp tacos & carne asada tacos, both are really good!
Cabo Baja has a good selection of more traditional tacos. The Camaron shrimp taco is awesome. The shrimp is well big, plump, juicy and well seasoned. It’s complemented with a great house made chipotle sauce. The staff is friendly and service is fast. There always seems to be available tables. There’s a great selection of house made salsas. The chipotle is my favorite. It’s creamy, but doesn’t have too much heat. Decent parking in the back.
