I ordered the shrimp bowl - very flavorful and filling. They also have a veggie/quinoa bowl without meat. The satsuma pie was melt in your mouth delicious! With a hot tea, it came to around $25. You don't have to visit the museum to eat at the cafe but I definitely recommend the museum.
After riding around 10KM, on a trike, around New Orleans’s City Park, I worked up an appetite for lunch. The Truffle-Parmi Garlic fries were a decadent and wonderfully delicious treat. The fried chicken sandwich - crispy perfection. The Who Dat Golden Ale was an awesome way to wash it all down. Located in the New Orleans Museum of Art, Café NOMA, offers a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the beauty that surrounds you.
Though the service was fast, the food is overpriced. 2 adults, and 3 children at $75 is a lot. There aren't many options to eat in the area when visiting City Park, besides Cafe DuMonde, and they don't have lunch options. So it was suggested to come to this Cafe inside of the New Orleans Museum of Art. Unfortunately, we will try to find another place to eat next time. The food was good, just overpriced.
Nice Cafe in the museum, with great view of the park. The chai latte was delicious, they also have milk alternatives which is great.Dine in: Yes
We ordered the mushroom flatbread, turkey melt, naked fries, and beer & wine. The food was delicious & innovative. The servings were very generous. The cafe is very comfortable and very clean. All of the staff were friendly and proficient. It is an exceptional cafe on its own and even more so as a museum cafe. We will be back soon. Bonus: You can enjoy the park, sculpture garden, or museum.
The food tastes great and they have a nice selection for a little museum Cafe. The dining area is very well lit with natural light it is a nice place to read while enjoying some delicious food. Vegetarian options: They had a vegetarian option in each category
A tranquil space with interesting lighting and eye candy to enjoy food and a French 75.Recommended dishesTomato Soup, Sandwiches
My comment is not about the coffee or the food, but the treatment I received from the person who served me. As they only accept payments with "physical" cards not contactless, I had to read her the credit card numbers to pay for the coffee I bought. At one point the cashier interrupted me to tell me that she preferred to read the numbers directly because I "had an accent". As you can understand, this is not the kind of comment I would expect, much less when I had been cordial. And as for my accent, of course I’m proud of it. It’s my second language.
A surprisingly good eatery located at NOMA. The portion sizes were on the healthier side. The service was excellent and old school for a Cafe with the server bringing food to our table instead of us having to pick it up and bring it. Seating was comfortable. Overall, a classy place. We got the soup and sandwich combo. The tomato and basil soup was really delicious and healthy. I enjoyed the portobello mushroom sandwich which was more of a burger brioche bun served with a piece of grilled portobello mushroom with cheese and veggies. The size was on the smaller side - I would have liked a bigger sandwich for the price. We also got the flatbread with cherry tomatoes and mushrooms- it was super delicious and the crust was thin and crunchy. Totally recommend this.
We stopped in after strolling thru the museum. The almond croissant, while quite tasty, was a bit more crispy than I expected. We each had a cup of tea. The water was extra hot! Perfection! There were so many choices for tea and coffee. Since I don't drink coffee,I was quite pleased with the selection.
