I was pleasantly surprise by the elegant decor of the coffee shop. I knew going in that it was a vegetarian kitchen. I enjoy a good bean bean burger and I was not disappointed. The sandwich was well spiced, healthy and delicious. The two potato wedges were cold, but also good. I recommend you give Lamara a try if you are in the area.
This is a solid vegan coffee shop that's seemingly sustainable from top to bottom. They serve up a pretty interesting menu of smoothies with protein. I had an A+ berry smoothie that came in a generous portion. Surfer's breakfast sandwich was subtle, pretty good, but not as exciting as I expected. This place is super spacious and clean; I'd definitely recommend coming here to relax/get work done and enjoy a good smoothie.
I really loved the breakfast at this cute little place in NOLA. There was lots of street parking in the area and a very busy place called Tastee on the corner down the block where I parked. The inside of the restaurant was so clean. Everything was white and open, and if you're a big fan of sunlight, there are windows that let in tons of light. Green plants grew in every corner, adding to the healthy aura of the place. They had organic and natural products for sale in addition to the healthy menu. I cannot eat gluten and was so happy they had a grain-free waffle made with almond flour, which is what I cook and bake with at home. This was the menu description: GRAIN FREE WAFFLE contains egg Almond flour toasted pecans Vermont maple syrup fresh fruit I also ordered a side of the pastured scrambled eggs. At this restaurant, you order at the cash, and the girl taking my order was very friendly and helpful. The food was so good and very fresh. I also didn't have to wait very long for it to come out of the kitchen. I'm not a huge fruit person and usually just eat my waffles with syrup, but I made myself eat the fruit this time, and it was very good. Incredible syrup, and the eggs were delicious, very fluffy. The coffee was very good also. It's very nice to be able to eat a breakfast you feel so good about. Lamara proves that healthy can be perfectly delicious. The only criticism I can offer is that they need cushions in the chairs, which were a tad uncomfortable. Otherwise, I will certainly return to this bright and airy space that offers a waffle I don't feel guilty about eating afterward. There was the added bonus that, as I walked back to my car, there was a gang of Elvises riding mini-bikes going down the street. Always something interesting to see in the Big Easy!
Once upon a pandemic time,... there was a hunger couple, whom loved adventure and fresh nutritious food... Hour later Toes curled, and wanting to reexplore the menu it was decided to come back. Stay tuned for the next episodes of.... Cafe Lamara! Pros: fresh ingredients cooked on the spot. Well worth the wait and price. Enchanting rear patio along side " Do not touch" prettytrouch nontouchy thing. Funny food books. Call in orders. Refrigerator full of last minute yummies. Cons: small kitchen for the demand.victim of its success Parking.....saddly again victim of its success
This place is such a delight. We had a really hard time finding GF-friendly places and this one hit the spot. The food was really delicious and well priced - we got sandwiches, a bowl, and a smoothie...as well as coffee drinks. Service was extremely friendly and the space itself is airy, bright, and just funky enough. Do it! Eat here! :
It was so nice discovering this gem. I absolutely love the fact that they provide healthy drinks and plant based food. I really love the whole vibe and atmosphere too. The customer service was also really good. I enjoyed the outdoor seating and the beautiful flowers. I'll definitely be back to this place!
The food is great but the lady who owns and runs it daily doesn’t truly know how to make her employees or customers happy. Every time I’ve gone out of my way to come here she’s turned me around due to “not having enough staff” or “we’re too busy we can’t make that item”. I’ve came here maybe 8 times over the last two months and have been able to order an açaí bowl three times out of the 8 because she’s simply “too busy” and they “take too long to make”… okay so then take it off your menu? Pay your staff more or hire more people? Because we’re paying $15 for a smoothie and/or a bowl of fruit and nuts and $15 per sandwich. You’re always busy so it’s just not making sense. What’s really annoying about the whole thing is she knows what I order and there has been so many times where she’s just been like “I gOt bAD neWs FOr u HAha” like no that’s not cute. Not coming back : x0x0
Hands down Lamara Coffee & Kitchen is one of our favorite spots in New Orleans and everything is organic and plant based! Diane is amazing. You can see her creativeness shine through in each one of her dishes, where she highlights her inspirations from her favorite dishes during her travels, re-creating them for her customers. Let me not forget the beverage selection! No other words than on point! Everything from the primo organic ceremonial grade matcha, latte, and the most amazing Mexican Mocha I've ever had, I would come here just for the beverages. Her space is bright, airy, clean. modern and beautiful. Great cafe for setting up your laptop and getting some work in during brunch or it's a great space to have a lunch date. There is also grab and go or pickup. If you are in, visiting, or planning on visiting NOLA and you care about organics and the ingredients you are putting in your body, don't miss Lamara!
The food was yummy! However, I ordered latte and it was so hot that burnt my tongue
Honestly delicious. I had the red-hot mocha and I loved it. The iced brown sugar Latte was also scrumptious! The bread for the sandwiches and Avocado toast was so hard though I thought my gums would bleed. Vegetarian options: It's all plant baised. Parking: They have a parking lot and some street parking. Dietary restrictions: If you are a carnivore you need to come here and try some greenery.
