Capoeira Oregon

The instructor is very passionate about teaching Capoeira. Many classes are offered throughout the week, which does make for smaller class sizes at times, but also allows the instructor more time with each of the students attending. Be prepared to push yourself outside your comfort zone a little. It will feel a bit overwhelming at first. Capoeira is an art that blends together music, dance, fighting, and acrobatics. There is a lot to learn, but everything builds off of the basics. A strong foundation is very important. As with everything else in life, you will get what you put into it.

This studio has been a wonderful experience for our entire family. We started out with our daughter with special needs taking the kids class. The instructor has been patient and encouraging while still challenging her to push her boundaries. We decided to do the family classes as well which has been a great way to bond as a family as well as learn new skills. I really love the community that has been built at this studio and would recommend it to anyone.

This is my honest and objective review after joining the class for half a year. Overall you will learn alot here. Students and teachers are passionate about capoeira. Reasons for 2 stars is the club is highly selective in which students they like. I was mysteriously removed from the Facebook group without any communication from the instructor. The main instructor also speaks negatively about other schools and seems to struggle with some pride and emotional struggles due to change in class size over the years. Some students in the class also demonstrate negativity towards other students.

Excellent family environment. Well organized school, good structured curriculum. I like the fact that the school has its roots in Brazil, which enhances my experience as a capoeirista.
