Ever since Lorie left, the place has gone downhill. Phone is never answered. It’s impossible to speak to someone on the phone. I needed a new debit card, she said sure. Then proceeded to help the other customers in line. Been here for 25 minutes. New debit card took 5 min in the past. Horrible training of employees, they don’t hold them accountable. They also fleece you if your account goes negative by $35 every two days it stays negative. The only way this bank can make money is by literally stealing from you, instead of by providing an actual service. Gonna switch to First Citizens. At least they’re organized, act professionally, don’t close at 2:00 Pulaski st location, and their employees are actually at work to work.
HORROR STORY Will be switching banks… All of my money is in my account here and I only have one card. I am 2 hours away from the nearest bank and my car is in the shop with little gas so I have no way to go there to withdraw money of get a new card. Today is Friday and my card had declined twice, I went to pick up my only vehicle from the shop and it declined a third time. I also have all of my bills including my electric and water bill coming in today. Caro has not been able to tell me what is wrong with my account. I was told I could wait until Monday or Tuesday for a call back from a specialist. So essentially I have no way to spend my hard earned money, no truck, and my water and electricity will most likely be shut off once the card declines for them. I am also low on groceries and have no way to buy more without my card working. There seems to be nothing they can do for me and I just have to accept that all of my essential services will be shut off because my car is locked.
I secured a loan through Caro Federal Credit Union back in August for my wife's car. Then, just today I closed on a loan to replace my car. In both cases I worked with Monica Bligen. She is very thorough and professional in every way. It was a pleasure meeting and doing business with her. I've been a credit union member for over 40 years, and I've received consistently good service during that time. My association with Ms. Bligen was no exception. It was among the best experiences I've had with Caro.
I have been a member of Caro since it was Carolina Federal. I joined in the 90's, and never regretted my choice. The people are always willing to assist, and passionate about the members needs. I have financed cars, homes, personal loans; and have a business account with them. They did not always say yes to my loan request, but I always felt like family not just a member. Thank you directors and hiring authorities for placing such tenacious and professional people on the front lines.
I love banking with Caro, before COVID-19 started, I would go in the bank and the tellers were always pleasant to me, assisting me with whatever I needed, especially Ms. Diane she works in the branch off of Pulaski Street . They will help get you a loan if you need it. I have been banking there for 15 years and never had problem. They will contact you if they see any suspicious activity on your debt card. I love that they give you cash back at the end of the month. Caro - Smart Financial is a great bank . I wouldn't change to any other bank.
This is a great place to bank with. The staff is always friendly and are extremely efficient. Monica Bligen was especially helpful in walking me through the process of being a first time car buyer. She made the process quick and painless. I would highly recommend her and this credit union.
Been with them for years and have had the best customer service experience. They have caught twice my card number had been stolen way before I even realized the first transaction had occurred and they reimbursed me the losses within 2 hours. When we had a branch on our campus, the personal service that I received was second to none. The personal touch that having this individual right there was wonderful and helped with the resolution of issues like the time I forgot my debit card at my house over 1 hour away and needed to $$$ to pay for my dog's grooming.
I really love the personable touch Caro staff give whenever I interact with them. They are interested in YOU and your financial well being. I have been a member for over five years and they have been beneficial to me in several major financial decisions I have made. I was especially grateful for how they help me when I decided to purchase a new vehicle this summer. Cherelle Turner and the team were outstanding and I would recommend Caro to anyone who is looking to establish a long term good financial relationship with an institution.
I have fortunately been a member of Caro Carolina Collegiate, name when I first became a member back in the 60's. I worked then at the University of South Carolina School of Business, which was across the street from Caro and they were in a small house. From there, they built a new office on Pulaski when I bought my first new car and they financed it. I now am retired and still using their bank for all my needs. I've always had a good relationship with them and trusted them as my banker. They have some of the best employees who are all very knowledgable about the bank. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my banking and have enjoyed all these years with them.
Caro gets the GOLD MEDAL for customer service! The employees are always helpful and treat you like family. When you place your accounts with Caro, you are truly valued as a credit union member - ALWAYS! They go out of their way to make sure your needs are met. Anthony is my car loan hero! I can't even count how many loans he has done for my family of 8 plus extended family members. Always hassle free! Lori is THE BOMB for anything else I need - including my emergency emails to increase my debit limit when I'm on vacation - ON WEEKENDS! I couldn't imagine taking my business to any other financial institution! These folks ROCK!
