Very nice little bakery. First visit of many more to come. Not a huge selection but Monday is probably not a big sales day. Had great pastries and frozen dinner entres with lots of fresh cheese toppings like parm and moz. Great sandwich meno too. Very friendly staff. I will be going back often.
have never written a bad review, but this place takes the cake. We got there 8:30 am Sunday the 3rd of February 2019. I have never been in Casa Del Dolce before this was our first time. There was limited amount of cakes and pastries everything was pretty bare for just opening. As my daughter was picking from what was there, I went to her freezer to see the homemade sausage. It all looked freezer burnt so I left it alone. My daughter spent $21.00 for 5 Italian Pastries sold by a miserable old lady. We were home and brewing coffee ready to share our pastries. The pastries were so stale the whipped cream was chunking off the pastry and the cake portion of them was hard I cannot believe that anyone would sell what should have been thrown out let alone sell to the public. I will never step foot in there again!
In 2012 I worked for the location in Ocean City, NJ. The owner was a real jerk and the kitchen was disgusting. He left the homemade pasta to dry in the back but also left the back door open and flies would land all over it. Pretty nasty. The only redeeming thing about that place were the desserts they sold on the other side of the restaurant. That was about the only thing fresh they would sell. He told me they came from this location so here’s 3 stars for great dessert.
It's a nice little neighborhood bakery. They don't have as large a selection as the Italian bakeries in South Philly but they're decent. Some things could be fresher but you can get decent quality baked goods here. You can also get pasta and tomato pie.
Came here for lunch. Ordered their meatball sandwich and soup of the day. Wait was pretty long 25-30 mins even though there was only three customers at the time. Cost 11 dollars. Meatball sandwich was okay. Lightly seasoned but the meatballs were a bit too soft for me. Soup was a little bland but it's okay.
I love this place. Sandwiches just like my grandfather used to make. Made with quality ingredients that you can taste. And I can also say the cannolis are pretty good as well.
I've been coming here for decades. They have the best Italian pastries I've ever had anywhere. The pasta is also phenomenal. Very friendly and clean.
Every pastry I got cherry cookies, tiramisu, cannolis were sooo stale. The tiramisu I couldn’t even get my fork through. The cherry cookies turned to dust as you bite into it.
We come here all the time, the baked goods are delicious. A particular favorite are the cannolis and the Italian Rum Cake but whatever you pick up you can't go wrong!
The owner isn’t very friendly, the soup/pastries are mediocre, and they’re not very accomadating. All of the pastries I’ve had have been super dry and bland. I’ve come multiple times but after my most recent experience with the owner I won’t be back.
