Very expensive but OK selection of food, mostly pre packaged & pre made. Given that all the museums are free it's not too surprising the food is expensive. It's a convenient location, there were plenty of tables, and it was quiet and cool inside. See photo for what you can get for $40.
The National Mall is quite the food desert so when we found ourselves in the Smithsonian Castle hungry and tired from all the walking, we decided to rest and grab some food here. The food is nothing to write home about and is very expensive as expected.
I don’t know why this have this cafe however there’s no food available!
The food has declined over the years. I ate there in 2016 and it was good. Then, in 2017 it was okay, and now it's hardly edible and, for over $20, that's totally unacceptable. I think I'll pass next time or eat something that they can't screw up there next time for less.
you hv to get yourn own "coffee of the day" from the coffee machine, it tastes bad and the price is $4! a bit strange and not cheap!
