Catfish Kitchen Restaurant

I never write reviews, but my experience at Catfish Kitchen was so terrible that I felt like I needed to. My family and I had placed a to-go order that turned out to be incorrect. No one was upset by this, but we did want what we had paid for. I politely asked the women at the register for help. She informed that she was the owner of Catfish Kitchen and then immediately accused me of lying and refused to give me what I ordered or my money back. I tried to explain that I wasn't lying, but she kept yelling at me and those I was with. She then threw the box of food at me and told me to "shut up." She repeatedly cussed at us and called us names. Finally, a kind waitress stepped in and gave me my money back for the food I hadn't received. I'm appalled at the treatment I received from the owner of this establishment. I will not be returning.

Great place to eat. Very popular, so call for a reservation especially late spring thru early fall. Beautiful scenery of the ponds. The fried catfish is really good, hush puppies, white beans and cold slaw await you at the table.

Food is still good. Waitresses are friendly, but I will not be back. My husband and I have always ordered ahead for baked fish. It takes one hour. I call at 615 for 715 on Friday night for two people. The person answering the phone sounded aggravated that I called. She asked me if that would give us time to eat because they closed at 8. We arrived early and told her I would order my usual fried fish and he would get his to go at 715 if necessary. I mentioned we understand they were concerned we might not be finished before 8. The receptionist (also same one who answered the phone) said she didn't know why I thought that. I replied, "because that's what you said on the phone." While we were directed to our table I heard her say something rude behind my back. The previous owners had you beat. If you can't handle the heat, maybe you should have stayed out of catfish kitchen. The good food was only part of what made this place so good.

Ate here last night. The food was delicious. Had the catfish, beans, slaw, and fried green tomatoes. The waitress was excellent. While we had a short wait to be seated we fed the turtles, fish, and geese in the pond.

This place has character, charm, and great food. I really can't comment on the menu choices because the catfish is the only thing you should order. My kids like the chicken but really, do you go to a steak house for their salad? Then why go to a catfish place for anything other than the fish? They have the best catfish period. I could eat it every day! I can say that out of the 26 years I've been to this place I've never had a bad server or bad food.
