I’ve been an instructor at CCLS Houston for several years since before we relocated into our very cool, bright, and pleasant new suite in the same building, and I’m pleased to say that I greatly enjoy teaching there. Having previously taught at another well-known international language school, I think the unique, science-based CCLS teaching methodology is above par for rapid, practical learning by any language student. As an employee, I’m pleased with the compensation, the professional regard I receive from the CEO and administrative assistants, the classrooms with skyline views, the technology available to us, and even the always clean and stocked refreshment area. I give CCLS my heartiest recommendation both to other teachers and to prospective students.
The school is well located. The teachers were fantastic and the school staff gladly received us so the time we spent at the school was very special. I hope to get an opportunity to be at school in the future again. Thank you!!
I have taught English at CCLS for the past year. I highly recommend teaching here to anyone who is interested. The methodology used is very well researched. I can see in my own students how quickly and easily they learn English, while laughing and having fun with me. Mana and Cinthia are always a pleasure to be around. CCLS has consistently paid me on time and the full amount owed. The $200 I paid initially, was fully reimbursed to me after teaching my first classes. If you come and work here, just watch your waistline! They are always celebrating something!
I have been working at CCLS Houston since last year, and during this time I have enjoyed interacting with students and staff, both in educational and recreational activities such as a museum visit and celebrations. The classes are enjoyable and since the first day the students have the opportunity to speak in Spanish, through an interactive methodology with native teachers.
As someone who both study and work at CCLS Houston, I am so glad that I have chosen this center. The CCLS Methodology is definitely a unique system with an emphasize on mimicking the natural learning process in the human brain. Also, as being part of a team, I cannot think of a better place to work with such an amazing management and teachers' team!
Teachers, don't apply for a job at this school! The school's owner, Cinthya, and her right-hand assistant, Mana, are very unprofessional, arrogant, and very demanding. They both expect the candidate to be already well-versed in teaching based on their secret methodology. When I went for an interview, both women were present, even though Cinthya was apparently not fluent in English, and they asked me to get ready to present a short lesson on the present perfect vs. the past perfect. While I was conducting the lesson, Mana rudely interrupted me and blatantly blurted out that I had not allowed her and her colleague to ask questions. What she really meant was that she was expecting me to get them involved in the presentation. I tried to point out that, prior to the interview, Mana had simply asked me to prepare a short presentation on the aforementioned topic. She argued that she had asked me more than that, but she never offered any evidence to that effect. Mana then proceeded to teach me how to impart classes based on the school's secret methodology. However, all that she did was to point out that I was teaching based on an old method -- one that is nevertheless still practiced at colleges and universities everywhere in the country. This lesson in how to teach correctly was coming from a woman who had no degree in education and who was not a licensed educator. In other words, she was trying to teach me, someone with over ten years in teaching experiece and with an Advanced TESOL Certificate, a Colorado teaching license, and a Master of Arts degree in education, how to teach well!!. Not only was this ironic, but it was also quite insulting and disrespectful. The session in Spanish that was observed by Cinthya was not any different. It was in fact even worse because she practically yelled at me for not having extra copies for her and for her colleague. At the end of the session, at which point I just wanted to get it over with and flee as quickly as I could out of there, Cinthya reminded me that I would have to pay the school $200.00 as a security deposit in case I left my teaching assignment within a period of fifty 50 days. What a ripoff! Seriously?! I am tyring to teach there so that I can make some money and not having to pay some, instead! In response, I told her that I would have to observe a class to see if I could adapt to her still secret methodology, which she tauted as being the best in the world! If it is so good, then why is it that no one else knows about it? Needless to say, I left the school feeling very disappointed with how Cinthya and Mana conducted their job interviews. Incidentally, Cinthya has a business degree from a Mexican university. So, to her, the school is more like a business than an education institution. Apparently, she does not have, and probably never had, any formal instruction on how to teach adults, which is also known as andragogy, and is not a licnesed educator. How can someone like that really assess a person's true capacity to teach effectively when she has never had any formal instruction of her owwn and is not certified or licensed to teach? Stay away from this place!
I love the team at CCLS! As a beginner in Spanish Level 1, and now in Level 2, I have had the best experience with everyone there. Professora Amparo is an amazing teacher and person, and I'm so grateful to have been placed in her class.
I have completed the first level of the Portuguese Course for beginners, at CCLS. The small classes, in my case 2-4 students, are great to facilitate maximum learning. This class size allows the teacher to become aware, and then solve problems the students might find themselves confronted with; it's excellent.
