Hayden was very professional and was exactly what our family needed when navigating education options for our daughter. I can't imagine taking the journey without his insight and encouragement along the way.
I would highly recommend them! My son has so far been offered three different college based scholarships along with his acceptances. I attribute this to their help in "polishing" and guiding him. The money I spent on this was extremely worthwhile! They offer SAT/ACT prep which is available on the weekends and evenings. I only wish I had started my son at that the summer before his junior year. They helped my son choose colleges that fit his needs and areas of interest. As a parent, I could have never done that on my own. I hope this will prevent the issue that many students will change colleges after their first year, which may be due to not really knowing the school. They supervised his essays, application process and even advice to take ACT in 2016 instead of the SAT. This was because the SAT had recently been revised. Hayden is also extremely personable and their administrative staff is helpful and professional.
My son worked with Hayden the summer after struggling through his freshman year of college when we realized that he had not really been taught good study skills habits in middle school or high school. Jack really enjoyed Hayden and used the information he had received when he returned to college in the fall. It made all the difference in the world and he has been able to raise his GPA considerably. Although Jack did not utilize this, Hayden offered to help him while he was away at school, via Skype if needed. To me, that was a wonderful option. Jack is now in his senior year of college and had a very demanding week in terms of much being required all within a three day period. I asked Jack if he was able to use the skills he learned with Hayden to help him through that and he said definitely. I feel blessed that we were given the Shumsky Center as a reference from a good friend. My only suggestion would be to utilize this valuable asset as early in your child's educational life as possible. It will make yours and your child's life so much easier. Lauralee Smith
